The Safety Supervisor will provide training and direction to custodial staff on safety related items. Must be self-motivated, detail oriented and comfortable working in a dynamic team environment with minimal supervision.\nRoles & Responsibilities\nTo perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.\nDevelop excellent partnership with SBM site operations team, corporate partners, and client POC’s through trust, actions, and results\nPerform all duties assigned by management\nUnderstand custodial scope of work and practices\nConduct safety trainings and “talks” in workplace safety practices\nEngage employees on safety topics on a daily basis\nConduct regular safety inspections of assigned areas and reporting the results of the inspections with particular emphasis on needed corrections or updates\nEnsure employees are properly trained on tasks and safety requirements\nMonitor employees for proper use of personal protective equipment and supplies\nConduct spot inspections and safety demonstrations\nReport incidents and hazardous conditions\nConduct and maintain closet and equipment inspections\nCorrect at risk behavior, and then report to EHS and Site manager\nMaintain a safe work environment for self and employees\nEnsure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, such as, EPA, OSHA, NJ/NYPA, etc.\nProvide recommendations for corrective action on areas that need improvement.\nAssist with implementation of safety initiatives\nCoordinate and supervise the activities of employees within the assigned site services program.\nEnsure site services are delivered in accordance with operational requirements, service standards, and customer expectations. \nEnsure specified contract services are being provided by the contractor by inspecting the work performed \nEnsure each team member is working in conformance with SBM policies and procedures \nReview and maintain employee records, including attendance and metric data\nOther duties as assigned\nQualification\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.\nEducation and/ or Experience:\nAssociates degree in Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field with 5+ years of EHS experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience or airport operations\nHave a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the implementation and management of EHS programs and management systems, preferably within facility operations\nSuccess working with subcontractors/vendors supporting mutual safety objectives\nProven track record of success executing EHS hazard prevention programs; specifically, in behavioral based safety, PPE compliance, JSA’s and continuous improvement\nProven record of excellent internal and external customer service\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nAbility to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nKnowledge of safety rules and requirements\nKnowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment\nKnowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use\nCertificates, Licenses, Registrations:\nA valid driver's license may be required for this position based on business needs. Employees required to drive as part of their job duties must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and meet company driving eligibility requirements.\nSupervisory Responsibilities\nCarries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving safety related problems.
