This includes managing routine upkeep, coordinating staff and contractors, and ensuring the property remains in excellent condition. The role involves hands-on troubleshooting and repairs, oversight of special projects, and maintaining safety standards. Additionally, the House Manager supports administrative functions such as purchasing, expense tracking, and project status reporting.\n Roles & Responsibilities\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.\nOversee day-to-day operations of the Main House, including pond management and general troubleshooting.\n\nCoordinate setups and breakdowns for visits and special events\n\nManage routine building maintenance for both interior and exterior, including stone, tile, and wood finishes\n\nSchedule and supervise service contractors for regular upkeep and specialized tasks\n\nPerform hands-on troubleshooting and repairs for cabinets, appliances, doors, windows, lighting, fire features, and alarm systems\n\nMaintain in-depth knowledge of property systems (e.g. HVAC units, pump systems, etc.)\n\nAssist with payroll backup and credit card allocations\n\nHandle purchasing and maintain accurate reporting\n\nEnsure all maintenance and operations comply with safety standards\n\nConduct regular safety inspections of the property, including fire features, alarm systems\n\nRespond promptly to safety hazards and implement corrective actions\n\nConduct regular safety inspections of the property including alarm systems, equipment checks, and maintain and update safety protocols for staff & contractors\n\nRespond promptly to safety hazards and implement corrective actions\n\nImplement visitor protocols and ensure secure access to the property, respond to security alerts and incidents promptly and effectively\n\nOther duties as assigned\n\nQualification\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.\nEducation and/or Experience\nMust have 5+ years of house management experience including maintenance repair related skillsets\nCertificates, Licenses, Registrations\nMay be required to have a valid driver’s license.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nStrong knowledge of property systems and maintenance practices is required\nAbility to manage contractors and coordinate multiple projects\nAbility to create high level reports on household projects and staff\nKnowledge of MS Office Suite is required\nHands-on repair skills and problem-solving ability\nFamiliarity with safety regulations and emergency procedures\nOrganizational and administrative proficiency\nMust be flexible and able to work on the weekends\nSupervisory Responsibilities\nCarries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work; performance evaluations; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
