This individual will prepare items for shipment by performing the following duties to quality and productivity standards.\nRoles & Responsibilities\nTo perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.\nSchedule and monitor deliveries\n\nReceive and unload freight both manually or with pallet jacks\n\nMeasure and record the daily volume of incoming and outgoing USPS mail, intercompany mail, UPS/FedEx/DHL packages as required\n\nCheck for damaged goods; verify quantity and quality of order\n\nVerify items received with PO\n\nTransfer material from wood pallets to plastic pallets\n\nWrap packages and ship supplies\n\nUnpack, examine and route incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages\n\nStock shelves and rotate inventory\n\nMay receive hazardous material\n\nMaintain inventory records\n\nMaintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies\n\nPerform all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods\n\nSupport the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base\n\nMake arrangements for pick up by the carrier specified on the customer’s purchase order, which is conveyed to the shipping clerk by final inspection via the shipping instructions\n\nReport defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor\n\nKeep adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times\n\nMaintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations\n\nFrequently required to use email, phone, and direct interaction with customers, suppliers, and site team\n\nMay assemble furniture\n\nAssist with additional tasks as directed by SBM site leadership\n\nQualification\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. May be required to have Fork Lift certification.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nMust be computer literate - knowledge of Microsoft Suite preferred (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)\nMust have thorough understanding of material handling.\nAbility to write simple correspondence or present information.\nStrong organizational and communication skills\nRequired to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 35 lbs.\nSupervisory Responsibilities\nThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.\nPhysical Demands & Work Environment\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
