The ideal candidate has strong GAAP knowledge, distribution/CPG experience, and hands-on experience managing complex retail accounting environments.\n 1. Month-End Close & Financial Reporting\nLead and manage full month-end and year-end closing process\nPrepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations\nEnsure timely preparation of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)\nMaintain close calendar and improve closing efficiency\nReview revenue recognition and COGS accuracy\n 2. Retail & Distribution Accounting\nOversee accounting for major retail accounts (Costco, Ulta, Target, etc.)\nMonitor chargebacks, deductions, and promotional allowances\nReview trade spend, co-op accruals, and TPD accounting\nEnsure accurate inventory valuation and reconciliation\nAnalyze gross margin by channel and brand\n3. Reporting & Compliance\nPrepare internal management reports and variance analysis\nSupport external audits and tax filings\nEnsure GAAP compliance and strengthen internal controls\nMaintain documentation for revenue, inventory, and expense policies\n4. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management\nMonitor AR aging and deduction exposure\nPartner with operations on inventory planning and reserves\nSupport forecasting and budget planning process\nAnalyze working capital trends\n 5.
