S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to coordinate our assembly function. As an assembler, you’ll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team.\nIn this job you will assemble Mark V, TR-II, ScadaMate, or Vista Switches. You will work in a production environment, engage in continuous production activity, must meet requirements within time constraints and you will be held accountable for the quality of your work. Tasks require a mechanical assembly aptitude, an above average degree of eye-hand coordination, manual dexterity, and the use of both hands and arms on a repetitive basis for a full range of motion. You will frequently use hand and power tools, working while standing on the floor and occasionally on a ladder or manlift.\nKey Responsibilities:\nAssembling Mark V circuit-switchers at one of several stations, ranging in size from 6’ x 10’ x 10’ to 15’ x 15’ x 15’.\nAssembling TR-II switches, ranging in size up to 5’ x 1’ x 1’ to 11’x 1’ x 1’.\nIdentifying, transporting, installing, mounting and bolting all switch components (ranging from 5 lbs. to over 100 lbs. with assistance). Some judgment is required to assemble and make simple adjustments.\nPerforming mechanical inspection using torque wrenches, screwdriver and tape measure, and electrical inspection using a test console.\nUsing simple material handling equipment, hand tools, power tools, simple gauges and instruments, and overhead cranes \nEducation:\nHigh school diploma or GED required\nWhat you’ll Need To Succeed:\nProficient in reading blueprints\nTesting knowledge of electrical switching e.g. relays, contactors and circuit breakers.\nDemonstrate the skills to use air impact tools and other hand-held tools.\nAbility to use shop math and measuring tools such as tape measures.\nAbility to follow specific instructions and procedures.\nDemonstrate knowledge of mechanical assembly operations preferred.\nManufacturing assembly experience.\nSoldering experience preferred. \nPhysical demands:\nStanding: All tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking.\nLifting: Frequent lifting of items ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 50 lbs.\nWalking: Occasional walking moderate distances (less than 1/8 mile).\nCarrying: Frequent carrying of items ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 25 lbs.\nPushing: Occasional pushing of motorized material handling carts with loaded weights up to 1000 lbs.\nPulling: Occasional pulling of motorized material handling carts with loaded weights up to 1000 lbs.\nBending: Frequent bending and crouching to safely lift parts of various sizes and shapes.\nReaching: Continuous full range of motion from above the shoulders to below the knees.\nHandling: Continuous handling of parts ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 50 lbs.\nOther: Respirator certification required. \nS&C Electric is committed to equal-opportunity employment.
