The Electronics Hardware team within TBI is seeking a Staff Electronics Engineer to perform research, development, and validation of advanced electronics technologies for future power system applications.\nThe ideal candidate is an experienced engineer with deep expertise in power electronics combined with a passion for innovation and technology development. This individual will leverage strong analytical and hands-on engineering skills to evaluate emerging technologies, develop novel concepts, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to mature technologies from concept through prototype validation and eventual product deployment.\nKey Responsibilities:\nIdentify emerging technologies, industry trends, and customer needs to develop innovative product and technology concepts.\nConduct technical research to define system architectures, evaluate technologies, perform component selection, and lead feasibility and tradeoff studies that optimize performance, reliability, cost, and overall system value.\nEvaluate competing technical solutions and present technical recommendations to engineering leadership and other key stakeholders.\nDesign, analyze, and evaluate power electronics and power conversion systems, including magnetic components, motor control and H-bridge circuits, energy storage interfaces, and industrial power applications utilizing Buck, Boost, SMPS, Flyback, SEPIC, and other isolated and non-isolated converter topologies.\nPerform circuit modeling and simulation using tools such as PSpice, LTSpice, MATLAB, Simulink, and related platforms.\nLead root-cause investigations and implement corrective actions for technical issues identified during development or product support activities.\nSupport design reviews, DFMEA, Risk Management activities and reliability assessments.\nCreate and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, schematics, test plans, reports, and design review materials.\nMentor and guide engineers while fostering a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.\nWhat you’ll Need To Succeed:\nBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering\n\nMinimum 10 years of experience in research, experimentation and designing complex electronic systems.\nExperience working within research, advanced development, or innovation-focused organizations, with a demonstrated ability to independently lead research and development activities with minimal supervision.\nDeep understanding and experience with power electronics, power conversion, energy storage systems, H bridge circuits and other related technologies, and the ability to assess and mitigate electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) risks.\nProficiency with PSpice, MATLAB/Simulink, and other modeling and simulation tools.\nStrong laboratory skills using oscilloscopes, DMMs, logic analyzers, network analyzers, power analyzers, and related instrumentation.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and influence both technical and non-technical audiences.\nDemonstrated record of patents, publications, innovative technology development, or successful commercialization of new products is highly desirable.\nPreferred:\nMaster of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE), Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent advanced research experience strongly preferred.\nS&C Electric is committed to equal-opportunity employment.
