We do this through unyielding quality, safety and integrity, our commitment to accountability and ownership, teamwork and creating better solutions by simplifying the complex.\nSummary:\nThe Quality Control (QC) Chemist I is an entry level position for individuals who use their understanding of Analytical Chemistry to perform the basic and routine experiments including generation and analysis of data in a cGMP laboratory.\nEssential functions:\nWith guidance, perform quality control analytical testing in accordance with USP/FDA/ICH guidance and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Typical testing may include potency assay by UPLC/HPLC/IC/AA/UV, pH, density, KF, Particulate matter, Identification by IR, etc.\nLearn and understand the requirements as documents in SOPs, test methods under current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP). \nOperate lab equipment and perform basic maintenance/cleaning procedures\nWeigh reference standards, reagents and samples accurately and precisely using analytical balances\nPerform accurate quantitative volumetric and gravimetric dilution using class A volumetric glassware and analytical balance with proper mixing technique\nClearly document all laboratory activities following GDP\nMaintain accurate written records of all analysis performed\nLearn to interpret and communicate analytical results and issues clearly and quickly\nPerform a variety of chemistry laboratory support activities including purchasing, routine cleaning, and waste removal\nOccasionally perform weekend and holiday duties to meet project timelines or when requested by management.\nRequirements\nRequired Qualifications & Experience:\nBachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering or Life Sciences (Preferred in Chemistry).\nHave general knowledge of Analytical Chemistry theory and the use and operation of basic laboratory equipment. \nDesired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nProficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)\nAbility to effectively communicate and work with team members.\nAbility to perform analytical testing while standing for long periods of time\nMathematical skills, including the ability to analyze scientific and test data, and a basic understanding of statistical analysis. \nSCA Pharma is an equal opportunity employer (Minorities/Females/Disabled/Veterans).
