the increasing security requirements of our cloud customers.\nAs a Software Engineer, your mission will be to design, build and maintain critical security services at the heart of Scaleway's cloud infrastructure.\nYou will work on challenging technical topics involving cryptography, Hardware Security Modules (HSMs), key management and secure backend architectures, ensuring the reliability, build ambitious products at scale.\nYou will join our Secret Service team, composed of 4 people (1 manager and 3 Software Engineers), responsible for developing and operating key security services across Scaleway's cloud platform.\nThe team works at the intersection of backend engineering, cybersecurity and cloud infrastructure, building services that protect sensitive data, manage cryptographic keys and support secure access to cloud resources.\nYou will work in a collaborative environment with a strong focus on ownership, technical quality and continuous improvement, following Kanban practices, backlog refinement and bi-weekly retrospectives.\nYOUR DAILY ROUTINE\nDesign, develop and maintain secure backend services powering Key Manager, Secret Manager and Audit Trail.\n\nBuild and improve robust, high-performance APIs for cryptographic key management and secure access to sensitive resources.\n\nWork with Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) and integrate cryptographic operations through PKCS#11 interfaces.\n\nContribute to the architecture and evolution of security-critical infrastructure, with a strong focus on reliability, availability and resilience.\n\nDevelop clean, maintainable and scalable software using Go (Golang).\n\nImprove infrastructure automation and deployment processes using Terraform, Docker and GitLab CI/CD.\n\nImplement and maintain observability, monitoring and logging solutions using tools such as Loki.\n\nWork with PostgreSQL to ensure reliable and secure data management.\n\nContribute to security best practices and compliance requirements, particularly within the SecNumCloud framework.\n\nCollaborate with other Engineering and Infrastructure teams to solve complex security challenges and continuously improve our services.\n\nABOUT YOU\nHARD SKILLS\nSolid experience in Backend Software Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering or DevOps, ideally in environments with strong security or reliability requirements.\n\nStrong development skills in Go (Golang), or proficiency in another backend language like Python with the ability and motivation to quickly become productive in Go.\n\nGood understanding of cryptography, key management and secure backend architectures.\n\nKnowledge of Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) and PKCS#11 interfaces, or a strong interest in developing expertise in these areas.\n\nHands-on experience designing, developing and maintaining REST APIs and backend services.\n\nGood knowledge of Linux environments, networking fundamentals and security best practices.\n\nExperience with Docker, Terraform, Git and GitLab CI/CD.\n\nFamiliarity with PostgreSQL and observability tools such as Loki.\n\nUnderstanding of cloud infrastructure, distributed systems and production environments.\n\nFamiliarity with SecNumCloud or other security and compliance frameworks is a plus.\n\nSOFT SKILLS\nOwnership & Autonomy: You take responsibility for your work
