The role of the Senior Civil Engineer is to coordinate and evaluate all tasks and designs related to geotechnical, hydrological, civil, structural aspects of projects in various stages of development, execution, and operations to various business units within the organization. Support to engineering manager and managing junior to medium level engineers and draughtsman.\nMain Responsibilities\nSupport to Development Phase\nLead the geological, topographical, and hydrological due diligence tasks\nLead review of hydrological, geotechnical, structural and roads risks at development phase\nLead the calculation of civil quantities for the bill of quantities\nIdentify country specific Civil risks and constraints\nPresence on site during development phase to compile site specific checklists/presentations and decide scope of work\nSupervision of Pull-out tests during development or structuring phase\nSupport to Structuring Phase of projects\nConduct due diligence investigations on civil related packages to ensure risks and opportunities are identified to be implemented in the detail design\nSupport Supply Chain Management on compilation and evaluation of RFP documents (technical specifications and bill of quantities), then lead engagement with suppliers to clarity the responses\nSupport Execution Team with planning and alignment of technical aspects of the project\nEnsure that all civil design information identified throughout the structuring phase is implemented in the detail designs\nSupervision of Pull-out tests during development or structuring phase\nManage in Country Civil Engineering Supervisors and Junior Engineers\nSupport technical growth of site and junior engineers\nConduct internal technical discussion to transfer skills to the Civil Team\nOperating System\nFollow the guidelines and prescribed structures as outlined by the operating system\nProvide continuous input towards improvement and optimization of the operating system\nSupport to projects in delivery/execution\nEnsure detailed engineering is implemented from the design stage with quality control and assurance documents\nReview design change request or proposals in the event of deviations\nSupport in project close out phase towards TTO\nQualifications And Competencies\nMaster’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical or Structural)\n6+ years civil engineering experience\n2+ years Solar and Wind energy experience\nDesign management of complex Civil infrastructure (foundations and reinforced concrete structures)\nSound knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D knowledge\nSound knowledge of Rocscience/SAP2000 (or similar numerical modelling software)\nSound knowledge of GIS software\nUnderstanding of Resident Engineer management of complex Infrastructure projects\nLanguage: fluent both written and spoken in English and Romanian\nSpecialist knowledge of two of the following: (Geotechnical, Structural or Roads/Pavement engineering)\nItasca/Prokon knowledge (or equivalent numerical and stress deformation analysis)\nStrong analytical ability and calculation acumen\nCapability to use numerical modelling and stress deformation software\nAbility to optimise solutions strategically and analytically, to reduce execution cost and time\nUnderstanding of site studies and technical design drivers to facilitate continuous improvement on related processes affecting civil engineering\nFoundation design/Geotechnical Investigations or hydrological modelling/ drainage design experience\nRoads/pavement or Structural design analysis and bending schedules\nIdeal:\nHydroelectric Power experience\nOffshore structural/geotechnical design\nFloating PV/ marine design experience\nFriction and end bearing Pile design experience\nCulvert sizing and Channel design\nSlope stability and Retaining wall design\nPersonal characteristics It is part of every employee’s term of reference to contribute to Scatec's vision: Improving our Future and adhering to our company values which are:- Predictable: demonstrate clear communication and listening skills, share information in an open and honest way- Driving results: demonstrate determination, pro-activeness, can prioritize and work independently- Changemaker: demonstrate entrepreneurship, can challenge, fast learner, take initiates and adjust- Working together: demonstrate teamwork, shares responsibilities, can compromise, has a can-do attitude We offer Scatec is an exciting, innovative, and ambitious company operating in a growing industry.
