{"id":2730356,"url":"https://alion.io/job/scc-av-project-engineer-2","title":"AV Project Engineer","company":{"id":1791915,"name":"SCC","domain":"scc.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/scc-com","size_band":"201-500","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"Eploy","truth_index":null},"role":"Industrial Engineering","role_family":"Industrial Engineering","seniority":null,"employment_type":"full_time","work_mode":"hybrid","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["York, United Kingdom"],"countries":["GB"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":{"min":35000,"max":44000,"currency":"GBP","period":"year","gross":null,"usd_annual":58702},"salary_estimate":null,"experience_years_min":null,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[{"name":"AutoCAD","optional":false}],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-10-16T07:43:58Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-10-17","last_verified_at":"2026-10-18T01:47:44Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":1,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":1},"description":"About The Role\nWe are actively building diverse teams and welcome applications from everyone.\nRole: AV Project Engineer\nLocation: South of London (Bracknell - SCC operate hybrid working, which comprises of a mix of office and home working)\nContract Type: Permanent\nSalary Package: £35,000- £44,000 plus large company benefits, a broad flexible benefits scheme, and 2 paid-for volunteering days a year\nHours: 9.00 am - 5.30 pm Monday - Friday\nInterview Process: 2-stage process\nWhy SCC?\nAn inclusive workplace\nExcellent package: solid basic and company benefits\nHybrid working & core hours in line with role requirements\nCareer development and life-long learning opportunities\nOpportunity to join Europe's largest privately-owned IT Company\nRole purpose:\nTheProject Engineer takes ownership of the technical delivery of AV projects and the engineering team assigned to them.\nSecurity clearance or willingness to apply will be required for this role.\n\nFull UK driving Licence.\nKey responsibilities:\nTechnical Governance: Manage design, drawings, and ensure alignment with project goals.\nSolution Implementation: Understand pre-sales solutions and equip the project team with necessary technical knowledge.\nProblem-Solving: Provide technical guidance to overcome unforeseen challenges and keep the project on track.\nDocumentation: Create schematics, elevation drawings, as-builts, and bespoke training/user documentation.\nCustomer Support: Assist the Project Manager and address any technical queries from the customer.\nSkills and experience:\nWork with the project manager and provide technical oversight of a project from conception through installation and completion.\nWork closely with Project Managers to ensure that engineering components align with project goals.\nReviewing and refining Bills of Material.\nAddress any differing perspectives to avoid project delays and ensure successful project completion.\nProvide technical ownership from project start through installation and completion.\nDevelop engineering and architectural (RCP/Floor Plan) drawings, elevation drawings (Using Visio and or AutoCAD), AV line schematics (Using Visio, Auto-CAD or Stardraw), signal flow, & rack layout drawings.\nReview, amend and update project design, drawings.\nAttend client sites to conduct technical site surveys.\nCreate a cable and consumables lists for each project to ensure everything required for a successful install is included and available to the installation team.\nTo assist the project manager to complete the scope of works for the project. \nCommunicate AV pre req requirements to Client’s Network teams.\nDetermine special requirements for projects, including personnel, equipment, cables and consumables, specialised tools, lifting equipment/scaffold.\nCommunicate System implementation plans to Project managers and installation teams.\nAttend site meetings and liaise with building contractors to Communicate Infrastructure and architectural requirements to construction teams.\nFirst point of escalation for onsite engineering during the project.\nResponsible for ensuring allocated technical staff have the skills and knowledge to deliver the required solution. \nMeet with current and prospective vendors to evaluate products.\nPlan effectively and manage tasks in a time-constrained environment.\nOperate and manage in accordance with all company rules and policies.\nAbout Us\nSCC is Europe's largest privately-owned IT business, based out of the new £7m HQ office in Birmingham and we help clients succeed through IT transformation and exceptional customer experiences.
