This role requires a versatile individual with strong general labouring skills, basic plumbing knowledge, and the ability to carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in the overall upkeep of the property, undertaking tasks across a range of trades.\nSecurity clearance or willingness to apply will be required for this role.\nFull UK driving Licence.\nKey responsibilities:\nReactive Maintenance and Fault Finding:\n Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests, diagnosing issues, and implementing effective repairs.\nEnsure that all reactive and scheduled maintenance tasks are completed within Service Level Agreements (SLAs).\nDiagnose and resolve plumbing issues based on inspections or descriptions.\nMaintain an adequate stock of spare parts and materials required for repairs and maintenance tasks.\nPreventive Maintenance:\nCarry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) activities as directed by the Facilities Manager.\nConduct water temperature checks and sampling.\nEnsure compliance with water safety standards.\nDocumentation and Compliance:\n Accurately complete and maintain all maintenance documentation, ensuring it is up-to-date and submitted on time.\nEnsure compliance with statutory requirements, industry standards, and company policies, Health & Safety, and safe working practices.\nDocument inspections and repairs.\nMulti-Trade Tasks:\n Conduct maintenance tasks, including general tradesperson tasks, basic electrical work, office moves, furniture moves, and mechanical tasks as required.\nPerform routine inspections and maintenance of buildings and facilities.\nAddress any general repair needs as they arise.\nProvide support to other team members and departments as directed by the Facilities Manager.\nPlumbing Maintenance and Repairs (Desirable):\n Perform routine and emergency maintenance on plumbing systems, including the repair and maintenance of showers, wash hand basins, toilets, taps, and both vented and unvented boilers.\nClear blockages in toilets, sinks, wastes, and drains.\nConduct quarterly shower head cleaning and maintenance of water features.\nRespond to emergency plumbing calls and perform necessary repairs.\nEnsure quick and efficient resolution of urgent plumbing issues.\nHealth & Safety:\n Conduct work in a safe and diligent manner, following all relevant safety protocols and procedures.\nMaintain and update personal risk assessments, always ensuring a safe working environment.\nProperly use all work equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with training and instructions received.\nAdhere to all safety regulations and protocols.\nEnsure a safe working environment for all maintenance activities.\nCustomer Service and Communication:\n Maintain strong customer care focus, addressing any queries or concerns from colleagues in a professional manner.\nCommunicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth coordination of maintenance activities.\nContinuous Improvement:\n Participate in training and appraisal activities as required, staying updated on best practices and new developments in plumbing and maintenance.\nProactively identify potential issues or areas for improvement in maintenance processes, suggesting solutions where appropriate.\nSkills and experience:\nEssential Qualifications/Skills/Knowledge:\nCompetent with relevant qualifications, e.g., City & Guilds.\nStrong technical skills.\nAbility to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.\nProven experience in property maintenance and repair.\nExperience in additional trades such as plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, or building repairs is desirable.\nMulti-skilled background with the ability to perform tasks across multiple trades.\nAbility to diagnose and repair faults.\nDesirable Qualifications/Skills/Knowledge:\n Gas Safe qualification.\nIPAF and PASMA certifications for working at heights.\nHealth and Safety qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) are advantageous.\nCustomer service orientation with strong communication skills.\nComputer literate with the ability to complete paperwork accurately and promptly.\nPersonal Attributes:\n Professional and customer-focused approach.\nReliable, trustworthy, and punctual.\nPositive attitude and ability to work methodically.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nWillingness to train others and share knowledge.\nOther Requirements:\n Flexibility to respond to emergencies and out-of-hours callouts.\nFull driving license.\nCommitment to continuous professional development.\nAbout Us\nSCC is Europe's largest privately-owned IT business, based out of the new £7m HQ office in Birmingham and we help clients succeed through IT transformation and exceptional customer experiences.
