In this leadership role, you will be responsible for setting the strategic direction and execution of data engineering solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across Transmission & Distribution (T&D). Are you ready to take on the challenge to help us build the future?\nResponsibilities\nEstablishes departmental objectives and leads the strategic direction for data engineering to support enterprise-wide data initiatives and business transformation.\nManages the activities of the data engineering department through subordinate managers, ensuring delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performing data platforms and pipelines.\nDefines and implements standards, processes, and operational plans that align with business strategy and enable consistent, high-quality data delivery.\nDevelops and manages departmental budgets, staffing plans, and performance metrics to ensure efficient use of resources and achievement of goals.\nCollaborates with senior leaders across data, IT, and business functions to prioritize initiatives, align architecture decisions, and deliver integrated data solutions.\nOversees the implementation of data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks to ensure compliance, trust, and reusability of data assets.\nContributes to the development and execution of company-wide data policies and programs, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives and technology strategy.\nA material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.\nMinimum Qualifications\nFive or more years of experience supervising a team of direct reports and/or project management.\nExperience with data processing large data sets hands-on with data transformation aggregation and filtering.\nPreferred Qualifications\nProven experience leading data engineering, analytics, or data platform teams, including responsibility for strategy, delivery execution, resource planning, and talent development. \nDemonstrated experience overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise data integration solutions, APIs, and ETL/ELT pipelines using technologies such as Python, SQL, Apache Airflow, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or similar platforms. \nAdvanced knowledge of modern cloud data ecosystems, including platforms such as Palantir Foundry, Snowflake, AWS, Microsoft Azure, or equivalent enterprise analytics environments. \nExperience establishing and governing enterprise data architecture, data management standards, and best practices for scalability, security, quality, and operational excellence. \nProven ability to influence executive leadership, communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences, and translate business needs into scalable technology solutions. \nExperience working within the electric utility, energy, infrastructure, asset management, or capital planning industries \nAdditional Information\nThis position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
