This key person acts as the focal point of contact between our firm and our clients. He/she will lead tax engagement teams on various projects, handle all tax compliance and consulting issues for assigned clients, keep clients abreast of technical tax changes affecting their industry, identify opportunities to cross-sell, look for opportunities to expand tax services, assist with new business development, cultivate and maintain effective relationships with external contacts as well as audit counterparts on mutual audit/tax engagements and will mentor, train and assist senior and staff associates.\nResponsibilities\nManage the preparation and review of quarterly and annual income tax provisions for financial reporting under ASC 740.\nManage the preparation and review of consolidated federal, state and local income tax returns and other business related filings.\nDevelop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.\nMonitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation.\nReview quarterly/yearly tax projections.\nManage and mentor members of tax team to greater levels of effectiveness and engagement.\nQualifications\nExtensive corporate income tax knowledge including expertise in federal, state and international income taxes\nExperience planning mergers and acquisitions and purchase accounting for income tax purposes\nStrong accounting, analytical, and research skills.\nExcellent written and oral communication skills.\nStrong knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code, compliance and procedures for corporations.\nStrong organizational and interpersonal skills.\n8+ years of experience in a tax manager or public accountant role and at least 2 years of experience in a management role.\nCandidates have a current CPA license.\nABOUT SC&H\nSC&H is an employee-owned, global consulting and financial services firm - home to people who believe in the power of trusted personal relationships.
