Reporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), the VP, Corporate IT will be responsible for day-to-day IT operations, project execution, vendor relationships, and team development. Collaborating with our CIO, this individual will help drive accountability and assist in advancing our technology to ensure that the IT organization can support the firm as we continue to grow.\nThis position is located at our Headquarters in Hunt Valley, MD with the expectation of 4 days a week in office.\nKey Responsibilities\nLeadership & Team Development\nLead, mentor, and develop a team of IT professionals across SC&H’s three core IT disciplines: Infrastructure (including Helpdesk), Applications, and Security.\nDrive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance, where problems are solved proactively rather than reactively.\nOwn all supervisory functions including performance management, development planning, conflict resolution, and staffing decisions in partnership with the CIO.\nIT Operations & Service Delivery\nEnsure reliable, secure, and performant IT operations across SC&H's enterprise technology environment.\nOversee helpdesk and desktop support, holding the team to measurable SLAs and a high bar for end-user experience.\nDirect system monitoring, patching, backups, and OS lifecycle management across all platforms.\nManage network infrastructure, firewall administration, and connectivity across SC&H's multi-site environment.\nOwn the IT service management platform and enforce consistent incident, change, and problem management processes.\nProject & Program Management\nOwn full lifecycle delivery of IT projects, from scoping and resource planning through execution, stakeholder communication, and closeout.\nTranslate business needs from SC&H's practice lines into well-defined IT initiatives with clear timelines, owners, and success criteria.\nMaintain a project portfolio and communicate status to the CIO and stakeholders proactively, without waiting to be asked.\nManage competing priorities across infrastructure modernization, cloud migration, compliance, and daily operations.\nBusiness Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement\nFoster strong working relationships across SC&H's service lines, supporting service line leaders in understanding IT capabilities and aligning technology initiatives to business priorities.\nCommunicate complex technology concepts clearly and confidently to nontechnical audiences.\nSecurity, Compliance & Risk\nPartner with the CIO and security leadership on SC&H's information security program, ensuring operational alignment with policy and audit requirements.\nDrive infrastructure-level security practices including network segmentation, endpoint protection, MFA enforcement, and least privilege access controls.\nOversee disaster recovery and business continuity planning, including regular DR testing and tabletop exercises.\nVendor & Contract Management\nOwn vendor relationships and contract management for IT's portfolio of technology products and service agreements.\nManage renewal pipelines, SLA enforcement, and invoice oversight to maximize value and prevent unintended auto-renewals.\nReview technology purchase requests for alignment with SC&H's architecture standards and IT strategy.\nQualifications\nRequired\n7+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including direct management of technical staff.\nDemonstrated track record of leading and delivering technology projects with clear business outcomes.\nExperience in professional services, consulting, financial services, accounting, or a similar client-focused environment is strongly preferred.\nStrong working knowledge of enterprise cloud platforms and modern endpoint management.\nProven ability to serve as a business partner to nontechnical stakeholders, translating requirements into roadmaps and communicating status without jargon.\nHands-on experience managing vendor relationships, contracts, and technology procurement.\nExcellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable in a room with senior leaders and executives.\nBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.\nPreferred\nExperience managing or participating in ISO 27001, SOC 2, or similar compliance frameworks.\nFamiliarity with ITIL frameworks and formal change management methodologies.\nExperience leading a cloud migration or major infrastructure modernization initiative.\nExposure to AI and automation platforms, with the curiosity and literacy to extend their use in a professional services context.\nA demonstrated track record of building and developing high-performing IT teams, with the ability to assess talent, identify gaps, and make sound hiring decisions including, when the time is right, an internal IT project manager.\nExecutive presence and business acumen developed through years of operating at or near the leadership level in a professional services or similarly complex environment.\nABOUT SC&H\nSC&H is an employee-owned, global consulting and financial services firm - home to people who believe in the power of trusted personal relationships.
