This means you'll get the opportunity to work across both product development and the technology that makes everything run reliably at scale.\nDepending on the project, you might be working on:\nBuilding and improving video and audio experiences for our users\n\nDeveloping services for publishing, playback, monetization and live streaming\n\nWorking with VOD and LIVE video transcoding and large-scale media processing\n\nImproving how we process, enrich and use video and audio metadata\n\nExploring AI capabilities such as speech to text and text to speech\n\nBuilding solutions that need to perform reliably during major breaking news and live events\n\nWorking closely with our newsrooms and product teams to shape what we build next\n\nAs investments in content rights and video and audio production continue to grow, you'll also have the opportunity to influence how these products and platforms evolve across Schibsted Media.\nOur platform powers experiences such asvgtv.noand the video and audio content available onvg.noandaftenposten.no.\nThe team\nYou'll join a cross-functional team with nine frontend, backend and fullstack developers and an Engineering Manager in Kraków, working closely with a Product Manager, UX Designer and Data Analyst in Oslo.\nWe work across disciplines and locations, with engineers involved not only in implementation, but also in shaping solutions and deciding how our technology should evolve.\nWho we're looking for\nWe're looking for a developer who enjoys solving real product and technical challenges and wants to work with systems operating at significant scale.\nYou should be comfortable working with Node.js and TypeScript. Experience across the full stack is valuable, but you don't need to know every technology we use from day one.\nOur technology includes:\nNode.js and TypeScript\n\nReact and frontend development\n\nEvent-driven services using RabbitMQ and SNS/SQS\n\nGraphQL and REST APIs\n\nDocker and Kubernetes\n\nAWS and Akamai\n\nGitHub Actions and continuous delivery\n\nWe care about building reliable and maintainable software and use practices such as unit testing, continuous integration and continuous delivery as part of our everyday development.\nIt would be great if you also have experience with, or an interest in, some of the following:\nRelational databases such as MySQL\n\nRedis or Elasticsearch\n\nAWS Media Services\n\nVideo technologies such as HLS or FFmpeg\n\nInfrastructure and Kubernetes\n\nAI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or other agentic coding tools\n\nExperience with video technology is a plus, but you don't need to be a video expert when you join.
