Behind every ad lies the technology that ensures they are fetched, rendered, displayed and measured across our websites and apps.\nWe are looking for a full-stack developer to further our ambitions in making our tools and platforms ever more efficient, scalable, modular, and similar fanciful adjectives.\nThe position reports to the Technical Product Manager of the Ads Inventory team, and is based in Oslo - but our department is spread across our offices in Oslo, Stockholm and Krakow.\nWhat will you do?\nYou will help develop and scale the platform that powers Schibsted's adtech stack.\nIn the past, each editorial team defined where ads should appear, in what formats and sizes, with what targeting, and under what conditions. Today, this is governed by a growing set of rules and stakeholders across Schibsted, and the systems behind it are complex. Our job is to turn that complexity into a platform that is as simple, scalable and modular as possible.\nOur goal is a platform that any online newspaper can rely on to smoothly run their advertising and generate revenue, where changes to configurations and formats are handled through our own tooling - not a developer's inbox.\nIn this role, you will:\nDevelop and maintain the tools and services used to configure advertising across Schibsted's websites and apps\n\nBuild modern web interfaces for managing complex advertising configurations\n\nContribute to SDKs, libraries and shared components used by other teams\n\nInvestigate technical issues across applications, SDKs and browser environments\n\nUse AI-assisted tools to explore, prototype and deliver solutions\n\nWho are you?\nYou are either an experienced developer, or a developer who has recently graduated but has a strong drive and big ambitions, who likes the idea of working in the biggest Nordic news organization. At least a small part of it.\nWe believe you have...\nStrong hands-on experience with TypeScript and JavaScript, including things like Observers and Custom Events\n\nExperience building modern web interfaces using React, HTML and CSS\n\nExperience with backend things like Node.js and Express.js\n\nA deep understanding of how iframes and cross-window communication work\n\nAn interest in learning, or have experience with, React Query and AWS services like S3, CloudFront, SQS, DynamoDB\n\nSome knowledge of building libraries, packages or shared components used by other developers or teams\n\nThe ability to take ownership of investigating unclear issues and driving them forward\n\nYou need to have...\nWork and residence permit in Norway\n\nNorwegian language skills on a level where you comfortably read Aftenposten, VG or other Norwegian news media in your daily life.\n\nWhat we offer\nOwnership over systems that shape how a major Nordic media house runs its advertising\n\nRoom to use AI and new tools to explore and prototype, not just ship tickets\n\nA small, autonomous, agile team inside a large company\n\nWe primarily work from the office, but there's nothing wrong with putting on your headphones and finding a quiet corner.
