Flexible location with access to our Dublin, Cork or Galway offices.\nTravel: Regular travel across the Republic of Ireland, with some international travel as required.\nCompany vehicle provided\nWe are looking for a Commissioning and Field Service Engineer - Drives & Automation to join Schneider Electric.\nThis is a field-based role supporting customers across Ireland with the commissioning, service and technical support of our Industrial Automation solutions.\nYou will work closely with customers to diagnose technical issues, commission equipment and provide effective solutions across drives, PLCs and wider automation systems. The role combines customer-site work with home-based activities such as technical reporting, planning and remote technical support.\nWhat will you do?\nCommission and service variable speed drives and Industrial Automation equipment at customer sites.\nCarry out fault finding, diagnosis and troubleshooting across drives, PLCs and associated control systems.\nSupport drive installation, commissioning and system integration activities.\nWork with PLC, SCADA and networked automation systems.\nPerform preventative and corrective maintenance on Schneider Electric equipment.\nProvide technical support to customers during planned and reactive service visits.\nPrepare technical reports and provide clear recommendations following customer visits.\nSupport technical reviews, quotations and planning of customer work.\nWork closely with our wider Industrial Automation, sales and service teams to deliver the right technical solution for customers.\nWhat are we looking for?\nPrevious hands-on experience in a field service, commissioning or industrial automation environment.\nExperience working with variable speed drives / VSDs.\nPractical knowledge of PLCs and industrial control systems.\nExperience with fault finding and technical diagnosis.\nKnowledge of drive installation and commissioning.\nUnderstanding of network integration and ideally SCADA systems.\nStrong customer-facing and communication skills.\nAbility to work independently while collaborating with technical and commercial teams.\nFlexibility to travel regularly across Ireland and internationally when required.\nA valid driving licence.\nWhat can you expect?\nYou will join a team supporting Schneider Electric customers across Ireland while working closely with our wider Industrial Automation organisation.\nThe role offers a mix of customer-site and home-based work, together with technical development and specialist product training.
