By combining global innovation with disciplined local execution, the team strengthens grid resilience and supports customers in achieving their sustainability and performance goals.\nAbout the Role\nWe're looking for a Principal Engineer, Cooling Technologies to join our One Solutions team and help shape the cooling strategies and architectures behind some of the world's largest data centre, cloud, AI, and mission-critical infrastructure projects.\nThis role is ideal for a highly experienced cooling specialist who enjoys combining technical expertise, customer engagement, and industry influence. Working closely with customers, consultants, strategic account teams, and Schneider Electric technical leaders, you will provide expert guidance on cooling technologies, influence future-ready design standards, and support the development of scalable, resilient, and sustainable thermal management solutions for hyperscale and mission-critical environments.\nWhat You'll Be Doing\nActing as the recognised technical authority for cooling and thermal management solutions across strategic customers and key opportunities.\nBuilding trusted relationships with customer engineering teams, consultants, and technical decision-makers during the earliest phases of project development.\nLeading technical workshops, architecture reviews, design discussions, and cooling strategy sessions.\nDeveloping conceptual cooling architectures incorporating air-cooled, chilled water, and liquid cooling technologies.\nSupporting the development of resilient, scalable, sustainable, and energy-efficient cooling solutions for hyperscale, cloud, AI, and HPC environments.\nInfluencing customer specifications, engineering standards, and future cooling technology roadmaps.\nCollaborating with engineering teams, project teams, and Schneider Electric Lines of Business to identify opportunities for innovation and technology adoption.\nProviding thought leadership on emerging datacentre cooling trends, sustainability initiatives, and next-generation thermal management solutions.\nMentoring technical teams and contributing to Communities of Practice, capability building, and knowledge sharing across the organisation.\nRepresenting Schneider Electric at customer engagements, industry forums, and technical events when required.\n What We're Looking For\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or a related discipline.\n10+ years' experience in cooling systems, HVAC engineering, datacentre thermal management, or mission-critical cooling infrastructure.\nStrong experience supporting hyperscale, cloud, colocation, internet giant, or large-scale datacentre customers.\nStrong expertise in datacentre cooling architectures, HVAC systems, liquid cooling technologies, and thermal management solutions supporting hyperscale, AI, HPC, and mission-critical environments.\nStrong understanding of ASHRAE guidelines, international HVAC standards, and datacentre cooling best practices.\nProven ability to influence technical decisions and engage effectively with senior engineering stakeholders, consultants, and customer leadership teams.\nExcellent communication, presentation, consulting, and stakeholder management skills.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a passion for innovation and sustainability.\nExperience working across international or multi-country environments will be highly regarded.\nThis is a unique opportunity to influence the future cooling architectures of some of the world's largest datacentre operators while working at the forefront of AI, HPC, liquid cooling, and sustainable infrastructure innovation.\nIf you're passionate about solving complex cooling challenges, partnering with industry-leading customers, and shaping the next generation of mission-critical infrastructure, we'd love to hear from you.
