We are looking for a V&V Security Engineer to perform baseline security Verification & Validation of web applications and APIs. The role sits between Security-focused QA and Application Security and is intended for someone who can independently perform structured security validation without requiring hardcore penetration testing expertise. The engineer will work closely with QA, Development and Product Security teams to validate security controls, identify common security weaknesses, document findings and escalate advanced security issues when required.\nKey Responsibilities\nV&V Security Testing\nPerform security validation for application features and APIs as part of the V&V lifecycle.\nUnderstand feature functionality, user roles and expected security controls before testing.\nValidate security requirements across authentication, authorization, input validation, business logic, APIs, sessions, file handling and security headers.\nVerify security controls at the backend/API level, not only through the UI.\nIdentify, reproduce and document security weaknesses.\nWeb & API Security Testing\nPerform baseline testing for:\nAuthentication: login, password reset, authentication enforcement and bypass scenarios.\nAuthorization & Access Control: RBAC, horizontal/vertical access control, IDOR, object ownership, user/site/device/tenant access and restricted APIs.\nInput Validation: mandatory fields, null/empty values, datatype, length, boundaries, IDs, dates, enums and unexpected parameters.\nBusiness Logic: workflow bypass, date/quantity restrictions, duplicate requests, invalid state transitions and frontend-only restrictions.\nSession Management: logout, expiry, token/session reuse and privilege changes.\nREST APIs: request/response validation, HTTP methods, headers, JSON bodies, authorization and parameter manipulation.\nFile Security: upload/download validation, file types, MIME types, size restrictions and access control.\nSecurity Headers: CSP, HSTS, X-Frame-Options, X-Content-Type-Options, Referrer-Policy and other project-required headers.\nError Handling & Information Disclosure: stack traces, internal paths, sensitive data, tokens, credentials and other unintended information exposure.\nReporting & Collaboration\nCreate clear and reproducible security findings.\nCapture request/response evidence and screenshots.\nExplain security/business impact and remediation.\nAssign severity/CVSS where required.\nTrack findings through Jira or equivalent systems.\nPerform security retesting after fixes.\nWork with developers and QA to explain security issues clearly.\n Qualifications & Required skills:\nRequired Technical Skills\nApplication Security\nUnderstanding of:\nOWASP fundamentals\nAuthentication & Authorization\nBroken Access Control / IDOR\nInput Validation\nXSS\nSQL Injection fundamentals\nPath Traversal\nCSRF/CORS fundamentals\nSession Management\nBusiness Logic vulnerabilities\nFile Upload/Download security\nSecurity Headers\nInformation Disclosure\nAPI Security\nREST APIs\nHTTP methods and status codes\nJSON request/response structures\nHeaders and cookies\nBearer tokens\nJWT fundamentals\nAPI authentication and authorization\nBackend validation\nTools\nBurp Suite\nProxy\nHTTP History\nRepeater\nDecoder\nRequest/response analysis\nBasic request manipulation\nExperience\nTypically, 5-7 years in:\nApplication Security\nSecurity V&V\nWeb/API Security Testing\nEducation\nBachelor's degree in:\nComputer Science\nKey Competencies\nThe ideal candidate demonstrates:\nStrong application-security fundamentals.\nGood QA/testing mindset.\nAnalytical and curious approach.\nAbility to understand application workflows.\nStrong API/request analysis skills.\nAbility to distinguish functional bugs from security vulnerabilities.\n Rewards designed for you\nOur Total Rewards is our way of saying: We see you and we value you.
