In this role, you’ll combine deep Generative AI engineering with direct customer impact, developing production-grade applications that support field services, technical operations and the continued evolution of the AiDASH SaaS platform.\nApproximately 75% of your time will focus on designing, building and operating Generative AI solutions, including agentic automation platforms, product-integrated GenAI capabilities and internal AI applications. The remaining 25% will involve partnering with electric-utility customers to deliver tailored solutions, address operational needs and support data-related work, including GIS data corrections.\nThis opportunity is well suited to someone who brings strong experience with LLM-based applications, backend and distributed systems, cloud services and secure multi-tenant architectures. You’ll also have the opportunity to deepen your knowledge of AiDASH’s proprietary platforms and the utility vegetation-management domain while collaborating with teams across engineering, product and professional services.\nWhat you'll be doing\nGenerative AI Engineering | Approximately 75%\nBuild and expand AiDASH’s proprietary agentic automation platforms, including the Virtual Field Services Engineer, which supports customer customization development with human review, and the Virtual Support Engineer, designed to scale technical support capabilities.\n\nDesign and deliver Generative AI capabilities within the AiDASH SaaS product, contributing across the full development lifecycle, from technical design and development to testing, deployment and production support.\n\nDevelop enterprise data assistants and conversational web experiences, including a customer 360 assistant that provides clear, reliable answers grounded in current data from internal APIs, SQL and NoSQL databases, documents and search indexes.\n\nBuild retrieval and orchestration services using retrieval-augmented generation, tool calling and structured outputs to connect LLMs with existing product APIs at runtime.\n\nCreate intelligent workflows that transform conversations, documents, meeting notes and incoming requests into structured tasks, work items and notifications, with human approval steps and audit logging built in.\n\nApply Generative AI to internal engineering operations, including the development of AI-assisted DevOps tools.\n\nIntegrate, evaluate and monitor LLMs in production, including prompt and model configuration, versioning, automated evaluation and rollback capabilities.\n\nTrack and continuously improve answer quality, source accuracy, latency, safety and cost.\n\nImplement robust authentication, authorization, tenant-level data separation, audit logging, error handling, retries and observability for AI services handling enterprise data.\n\nDevelop proofs of concept and MVPs, then help evolve the strongest solutions into secure, scalable and production-ready applications.\n\nContribute reusable tools, frameworks and engineering patterns that strengthen how AI applications are built and operated across AiDASH.\n\nProfessional Services Delivery | Approximately 25%\nDesign and deliver customer-specific customizations and product extensions using AiDASH APIs, including practical solutions for customer-reported gaps.\n\nSupport customer deployments through operational data work, including GIS and geospatial data corrections.\n\nIntegrate AiDASH products with customer and third-party systems, and support delivered solutions in production.\n\nPrepare clear technical documentation, deployment notes and product demonstrations for customers and internal teams.\n\nCollaboration\nPartner with product, engineering, data science, security, professional services and customer-facing teams to define requirements, scope solutions and deliver high-quality outcomes.\n\nCommunicate technical decisions, dependencies and trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\n\nBring a collaborative and pragmatic approach to solving complex technical and customer challenges.\n\n What You’ll Bring\nA Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.\n\n5+ years of professional software engineering experience.\n\nHands-on experience building and deploying production Generative AI or LLM applications, such as chatbots, assistants, retrieval-augmented generation solutions, tool-calling workflows or AI evaluation systems.\n\nStrong programming skills in Python and/or Java, with experience writing maintainable, well-tested, production-quality code.\n\nExperience developing web applications using React, TypeScript or JavaScript.\n\nExperience working with microservices, REST APIs, multi-tenant applications and asynchronous processing.\n\nExperience with AWS or an equivalent cloud platform, including containers, deployment pipelines, monitoring and production support.\n\nExperience working with SQL and NoSQL databases, search systems, queues and caching technologies.\n\nExperience delivering software for enterprise customers and integrating solutions with third-party systems.\n\nThe ability to communicate clearly and collaboratively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\n\nYou might also have\nExperience working with utility, energy, geospatial or GIS data.\n\nFamiliarity with secure enterprise AI applications, AI observability or LLM evaluation frameworks.\n\nExperience moving AI proofs of concept into scalable production environments.\n\nWe recognize that skills and competencies can be developed through a variety of experiences, both professional and personal.
