Field Service Representative is responsible for the installation, maintenance, modification, refurbishment, testing and fault diagnosis of electrical power distribution equipment, including LV/HV switchgear, AIS (Air Insulated Switchgear), GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear), transformers, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) and Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.\nThe role requires regular travel to customer sites throughout the UK and overseas, supporting a range of sectors including industrial, utilities, data centres, defence, offshore, nuclear and critical infrastructure environments.\nPrincipal Duties & Responsibilities\nTechnical Service Activities\nSupervise and/or perform site activities at UK, overseas and offshore locations.\nInstall, maintain, refurbish, modify and upgrade electrical distribution equipment operating between 400V and 33kV.\nInstall, maintain and fault-find on:LV Switchgear\nHV Switchgear\nAIS Switchgear\nGIS Switchgear\nTransformers\nAutomatic Transfer Switches (ATS)\nEV Charging Infrastructure\nProtection and Control System wiring\nAssociated Distribution Equipment\n\nCarry out:Equipment off-loading and positioning\nInstallation activities\nMaintenance inspections\nRefurbishment and retrofit works\nFault diagnosis and rectification\nCondition assessments\n\nPerform electrical testing including:Insulation Resistance (IR) Testing\nDucter Resistance Testing\nFunctional Testing\nSystem Testing\nFault Finding and Diagnostics\n\nInstall, commission, test and maintain Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) and associated control systems.\nInstall, commission, test and maintain EV charging infrastructure, including AC and DC charging systems.\nSupport customer training activities when required.\nHealth, Safety & Compliance\nUndertake site-specific risk assessments.\nAssist with the preparation of Method Statements and Risk Assessments (RAMS).\nEnsure compliance with all company, customer and statutory health and safety requirements.\nPromote a strong safety culture when working on LV and HV electrical systems.\nDocumentation & Reporting\nProduce accurate service reports and test documentation.\nRecord maintenance activities and technical findings in accordance with company procedures.\nComplete timesheets, expenses and site paperwork within agreed timescales.\nCustomer & Business Support\nMaintain strong customer relationships and deliver excellent customer service.\nIdentify opportunities for service upgrades, maintenance contracts and additional business opportunities.\nContribute technical information towards quotations and service proposals.\nAssist with workshop testing and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) when required.\nCandidate Profile\nExperience\nEssential\nMinimum of 2 years' experience installing, maintaining, modifying and upgrading electrical power distribution equipment.\nProven experience with LV and HV switchgear systems.\nExperience carrying out maintenance, inspection and fault diagnosis activities on electrical distribution systems operating up to 33kV.\nExperience working independently and as part of a team at customer sites.\nStrong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.\nExperience within utilities, data centres, industrial facilities, offshore, defence, nuclear or critical power environments.\nDesirable\nExperience with EV charging infrastructure.\nExperience working with Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS).\nExperience with equipment from manufacturers such as Siemens, Schneider Electric, ABB, Eaton, Lucy Electric, Mitsubishi Electric or GE Vernova.\nSkills & Qualifications\nEssential\nRelevant electrical qualification (ONC, HNC, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, Apprenticeship or equivalent experience).\nFull UK Driving Licence.\nValid Passport.\nGood written and verbal communication skills.\nStrong customer-facing and interpersonal skills.\nExperience in the installation, maintenance, modification and fault diagnosis of LV and HV switchgear systems.\nStrong understanding of AIS and GIS switchgear products.\nWell grounded in maintenance practices, fault-finding techniques and operational procedures on electrical networks up to 33kV.\nSound understanding of electrical safety and safe systems of work associated with live HV networks.\nAbility to read and interpret:Electrical Schematics\nSingle Line Diagrams\nWiring Diagrams\nTechnical Specifications\n\nATS Skills\nExperience commissioning, maintaining and fault-finding Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) and associated control systems.\nUnderstanding of standby power systems, generator-to-mains changeover systems and critical power applications.\nAbility to diagnose and rectify ATS control, communication and operational faults.\nKnowledge of synchronisation, load transfer and emergency power switching principles.\nEV Infrastructure Skills\nExperience installing, commissioning, testing and maintaining Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.\nKnowledge of AC and DC charging systems, including rapid and ultra-rapid chargers.\nUnderstanding of EV charging protocols, load management systems and network connectivity.\nAbility to carry out fault-finding and maintenance on EV charging equipment and supporting LV distribution systems.\nUnderstanding of energy management and EV infrastructure integration into existing power networks.\nDesirable\nEV Charging Installation Qualification.\nOEM Product Training on AIS, GIS, ATS or Switchgear products.\nHigh Voltage
