You will combine database architecture and production engineering with data pipeline development, data curation, platform migrations, self-service enablement and cost optimization. You will work with teams across regions to deliver reliable, well-governed data services.\nWhat you'll do\nDesign, develop and optimize SingleStore and PostgreSQL schemas, SQL queries, physical data models, indexing and workload performance.\nBuild and maintain reliable batch, streaming and CDC ingestion pipelines from relational databases, object storage and other enterprise sources into SingleStore; implement validation, transformation, enrichment and data curation.\nLead technical assessments and migrations of existing applications and data workloads to SingleStore, while onboarding new teams, applications and services.\nBuild reusable self-service onboarding capabilities, including APIs, configuration templates, automated provisioning, access requests, pipeline deployment and operational guardrails.\nOptimize cloud database spend through workload right-sizing, consolidation, scheduling and performance tuning; develop transparent SingleStore cluster, application and team-level cost allocation and showback.\nOwn production readiness and database reliability: monitoring, incident triage, root-cause analysis, recoverability, deployment controls and collaboration with SingleStore Helios support.\nIntegrate data quality, lineage, ownership and access controls into delivery workflows; work with the enterprise data catalog and governance teams.\nCreate engineering standards, CI/CD pipelines, automated tests, documentation and cross-region handoffs that reduce manual operational work.\nWhat you'll bring\nWhat you need\n7+ years of hands-on experience in data platform engineering, database engineering or closely related production data roles.\nAdvanced SQL and PostgreSQL expertise, including query plans, schema design, performance tuning and operational troubleshooting.\nStrong Python and practical experience developing production-grade ingestion and transformation pipelines, with testing and observability.\nExperience with distributed or cloud-managed databases and modern data integration patterns, including batch and CDC; familiarity with cloud object storage as an ingestion and staging layer.\nAbility to own end-to-end technical delivery, collaborate with application teams and solve complex production issues independently.\nWe'd love if you had\nHands-on SingleStore (MemSQL) or SingleStore Helios experience, including pipelines, performance tuning and workload design.\nKafka or similar streaming platforms, infrastructure as code, CI/CD and API-driven platform automation.\nExperience building self-service data platforms, data quality frameworks, metadata/catalog integrations and chargeback/showback reporting.\nExperience with cloud FinOps, database migrations or financial-services enterprise data.\nWho We Are\n Schonfeld is a global multi-manager hedge fund that strives to deliver industry-leading risk-adjusted returns for our investors.
