The Assistant Director of Systems and Data Reporting analyzes and reports on data for 35+ master’s degree programs, as well as for a portfolio of non-degree courses and certificates managed by the School of Professional Studies (SPS). This individual designs, produces, validates, distributes, and updates both quantitative and qualitative reports, queries, and data visualizations to support data-informed decision making in all facets of SPS’s processes, including the recruitment funnel (program prospects, inquiries, applicants, admission decisions, matriculants, and defers). The Assistant Director provides timely and interpretive reports for the Director of Admissions and Data Analytics, Director of Executive Education, SPS’s Senior Leadership Team, and others to inform recruitment, communication, selection, and enrollment strategies and policies. The incumbent will be expected to make recommendations on how to improve SPS enrollments based on data analysis from multiple sources.

The Assistant Director will work with the Associate Director of Master's Admissions Systems and others to identify data needs and develop tools in relevant systems (Technolutions Slate, Tableau, IBM Cognos Analytics) to address those needs.

  • Experience with manipulating data from a relational database

  • Ability to craft logic formulas and calculations to display data in a clear way

Preferred

  • Previous experience in higher education

  • Degree in business/data analytics, computer science, management information systems or technically related field

  • Experience with Ellucian Banner or other student information and customer relationship management systems

  • Experience developing and providing training to a professional and potentially non-technical audience

Salary Grade:

10

1. Data Integrity & Validation

Please describe your personal process for validating a new query or report before it reaches leadership. What specific "checks" or habits do you use to ensure data remains consistent when moving between systems like Slate, Tableau, and Banner?
