And we have everything we need to work flexibly.\nThe team\nYou will be part of the Enterprise Cloud Architecture team working across Azure, AWS and on premises platforms and services. You will be the principal cloud architect and subject matter expert for cloud, responsible for architecting a best-in-class cloud platform across both Azure and AWS public cloud service providers, ensuring that developer and business user experience is always at the forefront of your mind when architecting and designing cloud solutions. You will join a highly technical team who are solely focused on building a leading-edge cloud service who are integral to successful cloud adoption maturity.\nWhat you’ll do\nDesign and develop scalable and secure cloud architectures based on industry best practices, focusing on core cloud platforms, infrastructure, and security.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and translate them into effective cloud solutions.\nAccelerate the cloud first strategy through strong architectural building blocks and reusable Cloud patterns.\nDevelop solutions that provide a great engineering user experience from conception through to production go live.\nPartner with the DevOps CI/CD Toolchain team to ensure that Cloud requirements are incorporated in the toolchain.\nProvide technical leadership and guidance to development teams regarding the implementation and deployment of cloud-based applications and services.\nEvaluate existing cloud infrastructure, identify areas for improvement, and make recommendations for enhancing performance, scalability, and security.\nDefine cloud security policies, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data and applications.\nAssess the cloud security posture to identify potential risks and implement appropriate solutions for remediation.\nManage cloud governance requirements to ensure standards are upheld and cloud service lifecycles are managed.\nUnderstand the needs of the Schroders engineering community and ensure solutions address requirements.\nStay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in cloud technologies, infrastructure, and security, and provide recommendations for their adoption.\nParticipate in the selection and evaluation of cloud services, assessing offerings against business requirements and industry standards.\nCreate and maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud architectures, processes, and procedures.\nThe knowledge, experience and qualifications you need\nExperienced in architecting, engineering, and implementing cloud solutions on Azure and AWS.\nExperience relating to security across cloud infrastructure and services.\nDetailed knowledge of the infrastructure stack including Virtualisation, Kubernetes, Windows and Linux as well as Storage, Database and Networking\nExperience with modern DevOps tooling (e.g., GITHUB, Azure DevOps, Terraform, Azure ARM, Ansible).\nFamiliarity with software development and software development practices (SDLC).\nFamiliarity with modern engineering and agile practices as well as CI/CD.\nPassionate about building modern cloud services.\nProven ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams of business analysts, developers, data scientists, and subject matter experts.\nExperience of working as part of a transformational change programme.\nDeep understanding of broader cloud ecosystem including Cloud Computing Technologies, business drivers and emerging technologies and trends.\nSolid interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to self-manage.\nOpen to working in areas outside of your comfort zone, experimenting with new technologies and techniques.\nThe knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help\nUnderstanding of cloud trends and technologies.\nUnderstanding of security principles across the wider technology stack.\nUnderstanding of infrastructure services and systems.\nExperience of working in/with cross-functional teams.\nCloud certifications for at least Azure or AWS.\nUniversity degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline.\nWhat you’ll be like\nA passionate cloud architect who understands the benefits that cloud technologies bring to an Enterprise.\nAn architect who has the hunger and desire to embrace new technologies and continuously learn.\nAn advocate of cloud, cloud adoption and cloud transformation.\nSomeone who embraces collaboration and change.\nAn architect who can apply both a broad lens and has a keen eye for the details.\nWe recognise potential, whoever you are\nOur purpose is to deliver excellent investment performance to clients through active management.
