This role sits at the intersection of software engineering, cloud transformation, enterprise integrations, DevOps, and developer productivity.\nThe successful candidate will help shape and implement the next generation of engineering platforms and services supporting strategic initiatives including cloud adoption, enterprise-scale migrations, SDLC modernization, automation, and AI-enabled engineering practices. This is a highly visible technical leadership role that requires a strong engineering foundation, a passion for solving complex enterprise challenges, and the ability to influence technical direction across globally distributed teams.\nThe ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong collaboration skills and thrives in environments that balance modernization efforts with operational excellence.\nDesign, build, and support enterprise platforms, services, and integrations that enable software delivery across Schwab.\nLead technical execution of strategic modernization initiatives, including cloud adoption, migration programs, and engineering platform evolution.\nDesign and implement scalable APIs, integration patterns, and automation solutions that improve developer productivity and operational efficiency.\nPartner with product owners, architects, platform teams, and engineering leaders to define technical roadmaps and deliver business value.\nDrive engineering best practices in software development, observability, security, reliability, testing, and DevOps.\nContribute hands-on development, scripting, troubleshooting, and technical leadership across critical initiatives.\nSupport production systems and participate in root-cause analysis, resiliency improvements, and operational excellence initiatives.\nEvaluate emerging technologies, including AI-assisted development capabilities, and identify opportunities to improve delivery effectiveness.\nMentor engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning, technical excellence, and innovation.\nCollaborate effectively across U.S. and India-based teams to execute complex, cross-functional initiatives.\nWhat you have\nRequired qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.\n8+ years of software engineering experience building and supporting enterprise applications.\n5+ years of experience designing and implementing APIs, distributed systems, integrations, or microservice-based architectures.\nStrong proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or similar backend technologies.\nStrong proficiency in scripting languages for Linux and/or Windows servers (e.g., Bash, PowerShell).\nExperience designing and supporting enterprise application integrations and service-oriented architectures.\nExperience participating in large-scale technology transformation or migration initiatives.\nStrong understanding of RESTful API design, integration patterns, authentication, authorization, and application security principles.\nExperience with automation, CI/CD, source control, and DevOps practices.\nStrong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.\nExperience working in Agile delivery environments.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience leading or contributing to enterprise cloud migration programs.\nExperience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.\nJira Cloud administration, configuration, or migration experience.\nExperience with Atlassian ecosystem products and enterprise SDLC tooling.\nExperience with Linux/Unix administration and infrastructure operations.\nExperience building platform automation through scripting and API-driven integrations.\nExperience with observability, monitoring, and production support practices.\nKnowledge of modern API technologies.\nExperience with AI-assisted software development tools and engineering productivity platforms.\nExperience within financial services or other highly regulated environments.\nExperience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction across
