Reporting to the Aquatics Program Coordinator, this position provides direct supervision to lifeguards and swim instructors, oversees daily aquatic operations, and serves as the manager-on-duty during assigned shifts.\nThe Aquatics Supervisor is responsible for staff leadership, coaching, scheduling support, training, risk management, and ensuring exceptional member and guest experiences. This position plays a key role in maintaining a culture of safety, accountability, customer service, and operational excellence.\nEmployees in this role are expected to maintain availability for regular evening shifts and a minimum of one weekend day each week. Schedule flexibility is an essential function of the position.\nA typical day as an Aquatics Supervisor might include:\nOversee daily aquatic operations during assigned shifts, ensuring a safe, efficient, and positive experience for patrons and staff\nSupervise, coach, and hold assigned aquatics staff accountable for safety, performance, professionalism, and customer service standards\nLead staff onboarding, training, in-services, emergency drills, and ongoing professional development activities\nConduct regular safety inspections, lifeguard observations, skill evaluations, and operational audits to ensure compliance with established standards and procedures\nSupport the Aquatics Program Manager with hiring, scheduling, program administration, special events, and other operational functions as assigned\nMaintain records and reports related to staff training, certifications, incidents, inspections, and program operations\nProvide high-quality customer service by responding to patron questions, addressing concerns, and resolving issues professionally\nPerform lifeguard and swim instructor duties as needed to support safe and effective program operations\nAssist with pool operations, facility maintenance, and equipment inspections as needed\nThis job might be for you if you have:\n2+ years proven experience lifeguarding\n2+ years proven experience instructing or coaching swim\nCurrent American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification\nCurrent American Red Cross CPR, First Aid, and AED for the Professional Rescuer Certification\nDemonstrated skills in leadership, customer service, problem-solving, organizational skills, communication, computer knowledge, and file maintenance\nAbility to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities\nAbility to work cooperatively in a team environment\nIt is a plus if you have:\nExperience supervising, coaching, or training employees\nCurrent American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certificate, Water Fitness Certification, or equivalent certified documentation\nCurrent Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire date)\nKnowledge of, or ability to learn, basic swimming pool and facility maintenance\nFamiliarity with computers and various software\nPhysical Requirements:\nRegularly required to talk or hear\nMove or lift up to 50 lbs frequently, and occasionally lift or move a higher amount\nSit and/or stand for up to 8 hours\nOccasionally required to climb, balance, bend, kneel, and/or twist\nSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus\nFrequently works in and around chlorinated water\nAbility to swim, move, and train in the pool\nCompetitive pay.
