Simplify.\nOther duties as assigned.\nRequired Qualifications\nBS degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.\n7+ years of experience in power electronics, protection systems, power conversion, solid-state switching technologies, or closely related fields.\nDemonstrated experience leading complex product development programs from concept through production.\nStrong understanding of power system protection principles and fault interruption methods.\nExperience with electrical system modeling, circuit simulation, and design tools such as SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, PSCAD, or equivalent.\nStrong technical leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.\nStrong writing, documentation, and presentation abilities.\nAbility to effectively lead multidisciplinary engineering teams.\nAbility to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.\nAbility to work cooperatively in a team environment.\nBackground check results satisfactory to SEL.\nNegative drug test result(s).\nPreferred Qualifications\nMS degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in Power Electronics, Power Systems, or Controls.\nExperience developing medium-voltage or high-power switching equipment.\nExperience with solid-state circuit breakers, hybrid circuit breakers, grid protection devices, or advanced power conversion systems.\nExperience with requirements-based development and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).\nExperience with functional safety, reliability engineering, FMEA, and fault-tree analysis.\nFamiliarity with utility, industrial, aerospace, defense, microgrid, or transportation power systems.\nSupervisory or technical leadership experience in product development organizations.\nCompetitive pay.
