As a Transmission Line Engineer in Engineering Services, you’ll provide solutions and services that help our customers protect and control critical electrical infrastructure and power systems worldwide .\nKey Responsibilities:\nLead, coordinate, and develop transmission line designs for greenfield and brownfield projects. This includes PLS-CADD modeling, structural analysis, development of design criteria, wire selection, etc. \nAssist with proposal development and serve as the Technical Lead for transmission line projects. \nPerform QA reviews and provide mentorship to less experienced engineers and designers. \nEstimate labor, material, and construction costs for transmission line projects. \nConduct field inspections, route evaluations, and provide construction support. \nCreate construction bid documents, review contracts, specifications, bids, and offer recommendations. \nThis job might be for you if you possess the following:\nBachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program. \n5+ years of transmission line engineering experience in the electric utility industry. \nProficiency in transmission line design, including: \nDevelop plan and profile drawings. \nStructure loading and analysis for wood, steel, and concrete poles/towers. \nSag-tension calculations and conductor clearance analysis. \nFoundation design for transmission structures. \nRoute selection and environmental considerations. \nKnowledge of permitting procedures, right-of-way, property lines, and easements. \nFamiliarity with industry standards such as NESC, ASCE, IEEE, AISC, ACI, ASTM, and RUS specifications. \nDetail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. \nCapable of supervising and training new team members. \nProficiency in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, PLS-TOWER, and SAG10 software. \nExperience with structural analysis tools such as LPile, and RISA 3D / RISA Foundation. \nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience designing transmission lines ranging from 69kV to 500kV, along with proficiency or working knowledge of power line design software related to Power Line Systems (PLS) tools. \nExperience with renewable energy integration and grid modernization projects\nP.E. license or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe. \nCompetitive pay.
