Communication skills, both written and verbal, areimportant elementsof the position.\nWHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (and doing well!)\nTroubleshoot and repair security systems including analog, IP, addressable, and networked solutions.\n\nProgram andmaintainintermediate equipment and systems including intrusion detection, video surveillance, asset protection, environmental detection, holdup/duress, integratedsystemsand equipment related to the alarmmonitoringstation.\n\nUse a variety of troubleshooting tools to analyze systems and detect fault conditions.\n\nProduce repair reportsin accordance withbest practices for customer acceptance and billing information.\n\nProduce field surveys and daily project logs of activity.\n\nResponsible for complex troubleshooting and effective resolution.\n\nResponsible for programming systems via laptop computers.\n\nAssistin the oversight of project and vehicle inventory.\n\nProvide support, guidance, andexpertiseto other technicians.\n\nTake ownership of onsiteprojectsincluding safety, quality, and performance.\n\nTrain and develop other Service Technicians on equipment and company policies and procedures.\n\nProvide technical support to end users and technicians whenrequired.\n\nComply withindustry standard procedures andScienssafety programs/policies.\n\nWHAT WE LIKE ABOUT YOU!\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\n\nTwo to five (2-5) yearsof experience in atechnicianrole within thebuildingsecuritysystemsindustry.\n\nKnowledge of current security systems including access control, IP video, and voice and data systems.\n\nIntermediate understanding ofsecuritysystem integrity and how totroubleshoot forcircuit opens, shorts, or ground conditions.\n\nIndependent ability to program multiplemanufacturer'sadvanced system product platform(s)/graphical systems.\n\nAbility to program and troubleshoot mid-range to complex security systems.\n\nAbility todemonstrateproper operation of equipment and control units to customers and explain how it is to be used, and how to respond to any system signals.\n\nIntermediate knowledge of NPFA 70 and 731 for testing and maintenance of security systems.\n\nState, local, contract, and/or product specific certificationsdeterminedby the business.\n\nKnowledge of state fire procedures, filing, and requirements.\n\nAbility to read fire and security system design drawings.\n\nAbility to work under tight deadlines and with a sense of urgency.\n\nAbility to work independently with some supervision.\n\nKnowledge of OSHA safety standards andableto obtain OSHA 10certification.\n\nCustomer-focused;
