This is a key position for our growing team and requires attention to detail in all aspects of NFPA-based fire sprinkler systems. The ability to problem-solve and communicate effectively with the Designer, Project Manager, and General Contractor is an integral part of this position. \nWHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (and doing well!)\nRead and interpret blueprints to install prefabricated fire sprinkler piping. \nLead the installation of new, retrofits, and tenant improvement type projects. \nCut, thread, and groove pipe to specifications, using tools such as saws and pipe threaders. \nWork and coordinate with various contractors and trades to resolve coordination conflicts in the field. \nManage job scheduling and job progress in an efficient, timely, and cost-effective manner, with a strong focus on quality and safety. \nProvide support, guidance, and expertise to the other field installers and helpers. \nConduct inspection and interact with the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) for testing and to resolve any minor issues.\nProvide onsite support to peers and customers.\nEffectively assess the job daily, plan out future work, and identify need for materials and equipment.\nUnderstand the full scope of work and identify adds, moves, or changes not included in original scope.\nAssess assigned jobs and develop lists of deficiencies/remaining work and measures progress toward completion.\nInterpret drawings and install sprinkler system based on BIM design.\nComply with industry standard procedures and Sciens safety programs/policies.\nWHAT WE LIKE ABOUT YOU\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nA minimum of five years of experience in the Fire and Life Safety industry. \nCompleted Sprinkler Apprenticeship program through the 4th year Foreman Course.\nStrong working knowledge of wet, dry, and pre-action systems, as well as backflows and fire pumps. \nStrong understanding of all sprinkler system components and how they work.\nWilling and able to utilize electronic devices and software for completion of inspection reports and other duties.\nExperience with installation of underground piping preferred. \nAdvanced knowledge of NFPA 14, 20, 24, and 25 code requirements. \nAbility to read and install from fire system design drawings and documentation, including system zoning. \nAbility to use trade appropriate tools to perform daily pipe fitting duties efficiently and safely. \nAbility to train others to use trade appropriate tools efficiently and safely. \nCertified in backflow inspection and repair preferred.\nState required certifications.\nJob or site-specific equipment certifications as determined by the business.\nProduct specific certifications as determined by the business.\nAbility to understand BIM design and is able to effectively navigate and install.\nAbility to work under tight deadlines and with a sense of urgency.\nAbility to work independently with some supervision.\nKnowledge of OSHA safety standards and able to obtain OSHA 10 Certification.\nCustomer-focused; skilled in project and people management.\nExcellent organizational, decision-making, and communication skills\nBe physically fit to perform the demanding work of the trade, including frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds, maximum occasional lifting up to 50 pounds;
