Scimplify operates offices and teams across 5 countries with 1,000+ innovator customers in 40+ countries.\nWe are backed by investors such as Accel, Bertelsmann, Omnivore, Hitachi Ventures and 3one4 Capital, having raised over $80M.\nAbout the role\nWe are looking for a dynamic and entrepreneurial Business Head - Dyes & Pigments to build, lead, and scale our Dyes & Pigments business from the ground up.\nThis role will involve establishing the business strategy, developing a strong customer and supplier ecosystem, driving domestic and international market expansion, and taking complete ownership of the business's P&L.\nThe ideal candidate will bring deep industry knowledge, a strong commercial network, and a proven ability to develop and scale a specialty chemicals business.\nKey responsibilities\n1. Business Strategy & P&L Ownership\nTake end-to-end ownership of the Dyes & Pigments business, including revenue, gross margins, profitability, and overall P&L.\nBuild the business from 0 to 1 by defining the go-to-market strategy, identifying growth opportunities, and establishing a scalable business model.\nDevelop annual operating plans, revenue targets, budgets, and long-term business growth strategies.\nIdentify high-potential product categories, customer segments, and geographical markets.\nMonitor business performance and implement strategies to achieve sustainable growth and profitability.\n2. Domestic & International Business Development\nDrive business development across domestic and international markets to expand Scimplify's presence in the Dyes & Pigments industry.\nIdentify and develop new customer relationships across relevant industries, including textiles, paints and coatings, printing inks, plastics, packaging, and other applicable end-use segments.\nBuild strategic relationships with manufacturers, distributors, traders, and key accounts.\nIdentify export opportunities, develop market-entry strategies, and establish a strong international customer base.\nLead commercial negotiations, pricing strategies, contract discussions, and key account development.\nBuild a robust sales pipeline and establish long-term customer partnerships.\n3. Product Portfolio & Market Development\nDevelop a competitive product portfolio across relevant dye and pigment categories based on market demand and commercial potential.\nIdentify emerging market trends, customer requirements, pricing movements, and competitive dynamics.\nEvaluate opportunities across specialty dyes, organic and inorganic pigments, performance pigments, and other relevant product categories, depending on market demand.\nWork closely with technical, sourcing, and manufacturing teams to identify suitable products and develop differentiated offerings.\nExplore opportunities for customisation, product development, and value-added solutions to meet customer requirements.\n4. Sourcing & Supply Chain Development\nBuild and strengthen relationships with reliable manufacturers and suppliers in India and international markets.\nDevelop a competitive sourcing strategy to ensure product quality, cost efficiency, and supply reliability.\nIdentify manufacturing partners and evaluate their technical capabilities, production capacities, quality systems, and commercial terms.\nWork closely with internal teams to optimise procurement costs, improve margins, and ensure timely customer fulfilment.\nEstablish a scalable supplier ecosystem to support business expansion.\n5. Strategic Partnerships & Team Building\nBuild the Dyes & Pigments business with an entrepreneurial mindset, establishing the processes and partnerships required for scale.\nDevelop strategic partnerships with manufacturers, distributors, customers, and other industry stakeholders.\nBuild and lead a high-performing team as the business scales.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including sourcing, manufacturing, R&D, quality, finance, and operations.\nDrive a culture of accountability, ownership, customer focus, and profitable growth.\n6. Compliance & Business Excellence\nEnsure adherence to applicable chemical regulations, product specifications, quality standards, and export/import requirements.\nWork with relevant teams to address customer audits, documentation, product registrations, and regulatory requirements.\nManage commercial risks, customer credit exposure, supplier dependencies, and working capital.\nEnsure business growth is supported by robust quality, compliance, and operational practices.\nWhat We Are Looking For\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.\nSignificant experience in the Dyes & Pigments industry, preferably across business development, sales, sourcing, or commercial leadership.\nDemonstrated experience in building and scaling a chemical business, product portfolio, or business vertical.\nProven track record of managing P&L, revenue, gross margins, and profitability.\nStrong experience in domestic and international business development, including exports and global customer acquisition.\nEstablished network of customers, manufacturers, distributors, and industry stakeholders in the Dyes & Pigments ecosystem.\nStrong understanding of product applications, market dynamics, pricing, sourcing, and competitive positioning.\nExperience in strategic negotiations, key account management, and developing long-term commercial partnerships.\nStrong entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving business environment.\nExcellent leadership, stakeholder management,
