Scimplify operates offices and teams across 5 countries with 1,000+ innovator customers in 40+ countries.\nWe are backed by investors such as Accel, Bertelsmann, Omnivore, Hitachi Ventures and 3one4 Capital, having raised over $80M.\nAbout the Role\nWe are looking for a strategic and entrepreneurial Senior Manager - Global Sourcing to build and scale Scimplify's global sourcing ecosystem across multiple chemical, metal, and advanced material categories and international markets.\nThis is a high-impact role requiring strong industry relationships, established domestic and international supplier networks, commercial expertise, and the ability to drive sourcing competitiveness, cost optimisation, and supply reliability.\nThe ideal candidate will have hands-on sourcing experience in one or more of the following industries: Specialty Chemicals, Metals, Hydrometallurgy, Rare Earth Elements (REE), Battery Recycling, or Battery Materials.\nKey Responsibilities\n1. Global Sourcing Strategy\nDevelop and execute global sourcing strategies across India and international chemical, metal, and advanced materials manufacturing hubs.\nIdentify strategic sourcing opportunities across specialty chemicals, metals, critical materials, and advanced material categories.\nBuild scalable sourcing strategies aligned with business growth, cost competitiveness, and supply requirements.\nDevelop sourcing capabilities to support requirements ranging from R&D quantities and pilot batches to large-scale commercial manufacturing.\n2. Supplier Ecosystem Development\nIdentify, evaluate, and establish strategic partnerships with manufacturers, chemical producers, metal traders, distributors, recyclers, and suppliers across global markets.\nDevelop and expand a diversified network of domestic and international manufacturing partners.\nBuild long-term strategic partnerships with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure sourcing reliability, competitive pricing, and scalable production capabilities.\nLead supplier identification, evaluation, qualification, audits, and performance management.\nStrengthen Scimplify's global manufacturing and supplier ecosystem through strategic partnerships.\n3. Strategic Procurement & Commercial Negotiations\nLead commercial negotiations covering pricing, payment terms, contracts, supplier agreements, and long-term partnerships.\nDrive cost optimisation, procurement efficiency, and improved sourcing margins.\nEvaluate supplier quotations, commercial proposals, and manufacturing capabilities to ensure competitive procurement.\nNegotiate favourable commercial terms and establish strategic sourcing agreements.\nIdentify direct sourcing opportunities and reduce dependency on intermediaries wherever commercially viable.\n4. Category Management & Expansion\nLead sourcing across multiple product and material categories, including:Specialty Chemicals\nMetals and Metal Trading\nHydrometallurgy\nRare Earth Elements (REE)\nRare Earth Oxides and Chlorides\nBattery Recycling and Battery Materials\nCritical Metals and Advanced Materials\nSemiconductor and Electronic-Grade Materials\nPharmaceutical Intermediates\nAgrochemicals\nIndustrial Chemicals\n\nIdentify new product categories, sourcing channels, manufacturing partners, and business opportunities.\nDevelop category-wise sourcing strategies based on market demand, supplier availability, pricing, and business potential.\n5. Commercial Excellence & Cost Optimisation\nOptimise landed costs, improve sourcing margins, and identify alternative suppliers and sourcing channels.\nDevelop category-wise sourcing strategies to enhance profitability and competitiveness.\nDrive supplier consolidation, direct sourcing, and strategic procurement initiatives.\nAnalyse cost structures, commodity movements, logistics costs, duties, and other landed-cost components.\nEstablish sourcing KPIs to measure cost savings, procurement efficiency, and supplier performance.\n6. Global Supply Network & International Trade\nBuild a diversified and reliable supplier ecosystem across key international markets.\nExplore new sourcing geographies and manufacturing hubs across India and overseas markets.\nDrive cross-border sourcing, import/export activities, and international supplier partnerships.\nWork closely with logistics, finance, and supply chain teams to optimise international procurement and supply operations.\nEnsure supply continuity and minimise dependency on single-source suppliers.\n7. Industry & Market Intelligence\nTrack global commodity trends, raw material pricing, supplier capacities, and market developments.\nDevelop an understanding of metal markets, battery recycling value chains, hydrometallurgical processes, and rare earth supply chains.\nIdentify emerging market opportunities, alternative sourcing routes, and potential strategic partnerships.\nMonitor geopolitical developments, trade regulations, and supply chain disruptions impacting sourcing decisions.\n8. Quality, Supplier Qualification & Risk Management\nPartner with technical, R&D, quality, and regulatory teams to ensure supplier qualification, product quality, and regulatory compliance.\nLead supplier assessments, manufacturing audits, and periodic performance reviews.\nEnsure availability and compliance of relevant technical and quality documentation, including TDS, MSDS, and Certificates of Analysis (CoA).\nAssess supplier risks and establish mitigation strategies for supply continuity.\nEnsure adherence to applicable international trade, import/export, environmental, and regulatory requirements.\nDrive sustainable and responsible sourcing practices.\n9. Leadership & Execution\nBuild, mentor, and lead the global sourcing team.\nEstablish sourcing processes, governance frameworks, category strategies, and performance metrics.\nDrive measurable outcomes across cost, quality, delivery, supplier performance, and sourcing margins.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including business development, supply chain, technical, R&D, quality, and finance.\nTake ownership of sourcing performance and continuously improve the overall procurement ecosystem\nWhat We Are Looking For\nProven experience in global sourcing, strategic procurement, or supplier development.\nHands-on industry experience in one or more of the following: Specialty Chemicals, Metals, Hydrometallurgy, Rare Earth Elements (REE), or Battery Recycling.\nStrong network of domestic and international manufacturers, traders, distributors, and suppliers.\nExpertise in commercial negotiations, cost optimisation, supplier development, and category management.\nExperience in
