Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.Description\nServing as a designated safety representative to manage the company's environmental, health and safety program at a project level ensuring the safety of all company employees, other working personnel, and Government property\nProviding technical support and assistance to project teams in developing and maintaining a Project Safety Roadmap\nPerforming risk assessments and recommending appropriate risk mitigation measures to Management, including ergonomic considerations\nEnsuring compliance with applicable safety program expectations, federal and state laws and maintain accurate metrics and reporting in doing so\nSupporting project execution primarily in the Norfolk/Hampton Roads area\nEnsuring that all safety requirements are met, safety equipment is provided, and safety procedures are documented as part of the quality management system\nIdentifying and informing management of compliance issues, safety risks and improvement opportunities through the conduct of daily, weekly and monthly audits\nPerforming risk assessments and recommending appropriate risk mitigation measures to Management, including ergonomic considerations\nFacilitating the incident investigation process\nMaintaining required paperwork to comply with company, project and federal standards\nConducting training and coaching associates on observed work habits in support of this effort, as well as, training as required by the Program Manager or Facility Manager\nServing as POC for safety permit acquisition including Hot Work, Confined Space, etc.\nDirect liaising with Client and Facility Safety Representatives to ensure continue compliance and correction of non-compliance observations\nProviding timely feedback to all team members regarding specific safety corrective actions\nCommunicating and helping coordinate daily safe work processes\nEnsuring required PPE is available and used\nServing as the designated shipboard competent person regarding safety\n#LI-SF1\nRequirements\nAssociates degree in safety or equivalent experience\nTwo or more years of experience working with safety principles/practices/procedures\nStrong communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment and customer focus skills\nPrevious experience in shipyards or shipboard work desired, specifically, the application of OSHA 29 CFR 1915\nDesired Skills\nExperience with the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) (Public Law 91-596) and the resulting applicable standards, OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910 (general), 1915 (shipboard/submarine) and 1926 (shore)\nProficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically, analyzing and manipulating data\nOSHA 29 CFR 1915 or 1926 Ten or Thirty Hour Instructor\nShipboard competent person designation desired\nExperience in the application of NAVSEA Safety Standards\nClearance Information\nSRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AND ELIGIBILITY FOR A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE SECRET LEVEL\nTravel Requirements\nNo travel required\nAbout Us\nScientific Research Corporation is an advanced information technology and engineering company that provides innovative products and services to government and private industry, as well as independent institutions.
