Applicants that do not meet this requirement will not be considered.\nWe are seeking a Senior Staff/Senior Systems Engineer to support the design, integration, and certification of core capabilities for National defense. You will work within a fast-paced team delivering software modeling and simulation of complex sensor data for Missile Warning, Missile Defense, Battlespace Awareness, and Technical Intelligence. You will implement model-based systems engineering and testing processes in support of a dynamic Agile software development program consisting of Scientists, Engineers, and Developers.\nThe ideal candidate brings strong systems engineering discipline aligned with IEEE 15288, experience interpreting complex standards, and the ability to translate requirements into actionable technical guidance.\nResponsibilities\nDevelop and apply systems engineering processes aligned with IEEE 15288 \nPerform requirements derivation, decomposition, allocation, and traceability \nAnalyze tactical data link standards, specifications, and Interface Control Documents (ICDs) to provide implementation guidance to software teams \nSupport internal and external testing to verify system and software conformance to applicable standards \nIdentify ambiguities or interpretation gaps in standards and track related implementation issues from discovery through closure \nAnalyze and document standards conformance to support certification and evaluation for operational use \nDesign and model system architectures for remote sensor data processing systems \nMentor SciTec staff in systems engineering processes, methods, and best practices \nDevelop and maintain systems engineering artifacts, including requirements documents, architecture descriptions, and certification evidence \nCommunicate technical concepts clearly through written documentation and verbal briefings \nPerform other duties as assigned\nRequirements\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, or a related technical field \n4+ years of professional experience in engineering, computer science, or remote sensing \n2+ years of professional experience specifically in systems engineering \nStrong attention to detail and ability to manage complex technical information \nExcellent verbal and written communication skills \nAbility and willingness to work on site in Boulder, Colorado \nAbility to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET security clearance\nCandidates who have one or more of the following skills will be preferred\nActive DoD SECRET clearance; TOP SECRET with SCI eligibility strongly preferred \nExperience supporting certification, evaluation, or operational approval of software or communications systems \nDomain experience with remote sensor systems, particularly OPIR sensor processing \nExperience supporting systems engineering programs in the defense or aerospace sectors\nPrior experience supporting or developing software in Python\nExperience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) \nFamiliarity with SysML and tools such as Cameo / MagicDraw is highly desirable \nAcademic credentials or professional certification in systems engineering (e.g., INCOSE)\n*Resumes, Cover Letters, and Applications which are generated by AI will not be considered for employment.\nColorado Residents: In any materials you submit, you may redact or remove age-identifying information such as age, date of birth, or dates of school attendance or graduation.
