Scope radically simplifies how inspectors collect data in the field, make decisions, and produce reports. Our customers inspect facilities and products for companies including AstraZeneca and SpaceX.\nWe've assembled a best-in-class team: acquired and future founders, people from institutions like Imperial, Carnegie Mellon and Oxford, and from firms like Goldman Sachs, Flexport and Amazon.\nSince launching from Entrepreneurs First in 2024, we've raised an oversubscribed $20m round led byIndex Ventures, the firm behind Figma, Revolut and Wiz, with 100+ unicorns backed to date.\nAbout the role\nWe're hiring our first Product Designer.\nEvery engineer at Scope is a product engineer: they talk to users, decide what to build and ship it themselves. You'll work the same way, with design as your edge, and help the engineers around you to build a better product. That covers the whole experience, not just the surface: which problem we solve, how the flow works, what happens when things go wrong, and how it all looks. You'll work closely with the engineers, with Ish our Product Manager, and with Jakob the CTO.\nWe work in person five days a week from our office in Farringdon.\nWhat you'll work on\nSome examples of surfaces in our product that will need your help:\nOur mobile app gets used inside tanks and on top of pressure vessels. People wear thick gloves, there's usually no signal, and one hand is often holding on to something. Most of what makes a normal app pleasant doesn't apply there, so a big part of the job is figuring out what does.\n\nThen there's the report. How AI and the inspector will work together to produce 40 page reports and review them is something nobody has designed well yet.\n\nInspectors but also decision makers should be able to ask things like \"Which tanks were over the corrosion limit last year?\".
