Responsibilities:

  • Build, enhance, and maintain backend services and APIs that support gameplay features, progression, rewards, leaderboards, and live events.
  • Develop reliable server-side logic in a large Python/Django codebase.
  • Work with Redis, DynamoDB, and async job systems to support scalable and performant game services.
  • Help power live operations through tools, scheduled jobs, and data-driven systems.
  • Partner with product, design, QA, analytics, and other engineers to deliver high-quality player experiences.
  • Write tests, troubleshoot issues, participate in code reviews, and contribute to code quality and maintainability.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of professional software development experience, ideally in backend systems, gaming, or consumer products.
  • Proficiency in Python and object-oriented programming.
  • Experience building or supporting backend services and REST APIs.
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as Django, Flask, or similar backend technologies.
  • Working knowledge of databases, caching, or NoSQL systems such as Redis, DynamoDB, or similar technologies.
  • Exposure to async processing, scheduled jobs, or queue-based workflows is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Docker, AWS, or cloud-based development environments is a plus.
  • Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
  • Experience writing automated tests and contributing to code reviews.
