In addition, this role also supports high priority initiatives such as Risk Assessment, Issue Management, and regulatory response for the overall program.\nAccountabilities\nLead and/or support a variety of periodic (and/or ad-hoc) testing and quality assurance reviews for FL or non- AML services into GBM business lines based on an annual plan or management requirements.\nConducts testing and quality assurance of critical components of the AML and Sanctions programs, with an emphasis on Know-Your-Customer (KYC) processes and controls, Trade Finance, name screening review and escalation processes, among others.\nPrepare monthly statistics and reports for the appropriate stakeholders providing results of the various tests/reviews that are performed\nPerform risk-based testing to assess the operating and/or design effectiveness of key GBM controls and processes in accordance with GBM First Line and AML Testing Procedures. The reviews will require good knowledge of GBM processes, products, and risks and understanding of how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions\nTesting will cover a broad variety of GBM-related procedures and risks, including regulatory onboarding procedures that impact GBM business trading activity (Dodd-Frank, EMIR, Canadian Trade Reporting), and will require good knowledge of GBM processes, products, and risks.\nReview and update testing scripts to align with policies, procedures and relevant regulations\nWork closely with tested areas and other stakeholders to identify and address patterns, themes, or trends that indicate potential weaknesses or gaps in the execution of GBM First Line and AML Controls. to socialize and review identified issues, draft and socialize formalized issues and work with relevant stakeholders on remediation and action plans\nChampions a client-driven culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.\nPerform analysis to identify and address patterns, themes, or trends that indicate potential weaknesses or gaps in the execution of GBM First Line and AML Controls.\nProvide effective and constructive feedback to the First Line of Defense within GBM on identified deficiencies, supporting the development of appropriate corrective and preventive actions plans as required.\nDraft periodic reporting of findings and progress against remediation objectives to management and other key stakeholders.\nSupport continuous development on GBM First Line and AML Testing Methodologies.\nSupport in the development of training, where appropriate, based on testing results, lessons learned and progress of corrective actions.\nDeveloping and maintaining key relationships with stakeholders (e.g., global derivatives compliance teams, GBM BRM stakeholders).\nActively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.\nParticipating in ongoing initiatives and projects, as required.\nChampions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment\nEducation / Experience / Other Information\nRequired\nBachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, law, or equivalent work experience\nMinimum of 3 years of experience in control and audit processes in financial services and/or consulting, AML/ KYC.\nACAMS certified preferred\nWorking knowledge of testing methodologies, risk and control analysis or quality assurance.\nKnowledge of businesses, products, operations, Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, strong communication (written & oral), analytical, organization, project management/planning skills; proficient in excel, SharePoint and/or access a plus\nFast learner, strong analytical skills, and critical thinking capabilities to frame and structure complex issues effectively and develop insights and recommendation.\nHighly organized with an ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment and manage multiple priorities; Ability to prioritize tasks; creative problem solving and the ability to motivate others and implement new solutions.\nExcellent command of English (reading, writing and speaking skills).\nPreferred\nExperience in audit, compliance, trade surveillance, operational risk, quality assurance and/or project management.\nKnowledge of capital markets and wholesale banking products, OTC Derivative trading activities, and related regulatory requirements (e.g., Dodd-Frank, EMIR, Canadian Trade Reporting).\nData and financial analysis with ability to manage large datasets - analytics skill, programming skills and/or knowledge of Power BI.\nWorking Conditions\nWork in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.\nGlobal coverage will require conference calls during Asian and European business hours\nSignificant degree of sensory attention and concentration required within an open concept office environment.\nAbility to maintain confidentiality of information within an open-concept office environment.\nAbility to deal with time sensitive requests, competing priorities and fluctuating call, email volumes\nLocation(s): Colombia : Bogota : Bogota\nScotia GBS is a Scotiabank Group company located in Bogota, Colombia created to support different processes of the Bank and the development and execution of its global services strategy in 15 countries in the Americas.
