This role partners with engineering teams, product leaders, and engineering leads to guide the adoption and maturity of the Agile mindset. This role serves as a mentor, facilitator, and change agent, helping teams improve ways of working, strengthen product engagement, and achieve measurable outcomes that align with strategic business value. This role will contribute to the overall success of the Core Banking Engineering teams to elevate our team’s growth potential and execute on top organizational priorities.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nMentorship & Mindset\nLeverage previous experiences in adapting core principles to real-world application - using this to upskill our leads and team members.\nMentor Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and new Agile practitioners to build the right mindset.\nHelp leaders understand their role in supporting Agile teams and shifting traditional command and control behaviors.\nAct as a trusted advisor on Agile practices, product strategy alignment, and organizational impediments.\nPromote a culture of accountability within the team.\nContinuous Improvement & Metrics\nIntroduce, measure, and refine Agile metrics using delivery data such as cycle time, throughput, and trends to evaluate team health and customer value delivery.\nUse qualitative and quantitative insights to guide improvement experiments and support evidence based planning - improving delivery practices, and adopting data driven decision making.\nCoaching & Transformation\nMaintain awareness of industry best practices and incorporate modern coaching techniques and tools.\nSupport the design and rollout of delivery strategies across departments or portfolios.\nCoach teams on Agile values, principles, and mindset to improve flow, predictability, and quality.\nObserve, evaluate, and lead-by-example on Agile ceremonies (e.g., retrospectives, sprint planning, standups) while enabling teams to self facilitate.\nPartner with leaders to build an environment where autonomy, trust, psychological safety, and continuous learning can thrive.\nPromote cross functional collaboration to improve end-to-end delivery flow.\nOrganizational Expectations\nUnderstand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.\nActively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. \nChampions a high performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.\nWhat You'll Bring:\nEducation & Certifications\nPost-secondary education and/or experience in relevant positions or field of employment\nRelevant certifications are an asset, for example:\nICAgile Agile Coaching (ICP-ACC or ICP-ATF)\nScrum Alliance Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) or Certified Agile Coach (CEC/CTC)\nSAFe, Kanban, or Lean certifications\nProfessional Experience\nWorking experience in Agile environments across engineering or product domains.\nSuccessful engagements in previous roles as Agile Coach, Scrum Master, or Delivery Lead coaching multiple teams.\nProven experience driving organizational level transformations or modernization efforts.\nSkills & Competencies\nDeep knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, XP, Lean) and scaling approaches (SAFe, LeSS, or similar).\nStrong facilitation, mentoring, and conflict resolution skills.\nAbility to coach at all levels-from hands on delivery teams to senior leadership.\nDemonstrated success improving team health, delivery flow, and customer centric practices.\nExcellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence without authority.\nA passion for continuous learning, psychological safety, and fostering inclusive team culture.\nWhat's in it for you?\nYou’ll join a team focused on building cloud platforms as products, enabling delivery teams across the enterprise rather than acting as a centralized gatekeeper or operating within a narrow delivery focus.
