You’ll own the engineering roadmap, govern platform standards, and lead multiple squads to deliver secure, scalable, and high quality solutions in a regulated environment.\nIs this role right for you? In this role, you will:\nOwn the Salesforce engineering strategy and multi year roadmap; align with enterprise architecture, business priorities, and modernization plans. \nGovern development standards (coding, security, accessibility, reuse), lifecycle practices, and platform operating model across squads. \nDrive platform scalability, performance, observability, and resilience; ensure alignment with risk, security, privacy, and compliance requirements. \nManage platform portfolio, capacity planning, and release calendars across multiple Salesforce clouds. \nEnsure timely, high quality delivery of program milestones while adhering to SDLC, change management, and regulatory controls. \nOrchestrate cross team dependencies (product, architecture, data, integration, QA, DevOps), remove blockers, and manage risks with clear mitigation plans. \nLead technical discussions; influence solution design, integration strategy, and make pragmatic build vs buy recommendations. \nOversee code quality through standards enforcement, code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD best practices. \nPartner with senior stakeholders (Directors/VPs) across multiple business lines; prepare executive updates and clear decision packs. \nManage vendor/partner relationships, SOWs, and delivery performance for supported solutions and accelerators. \nLead and grow high performing Salesforce squads (potentially 2-3 pods, ~8-15 FTE/contractors); build career paths and succession plans. \nFoster a culture of engineering excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement; coach and mentor engineers, leads, and admins. \nDefine and track engineering KPIs (velocity, change failure rate, defect escape, MTTR, release stability, test coverage, platform health). \nDrive proof of concepts/pilots and evaluate emerging Salesforce capabilities (e.g., Einstein AI, Data Cloud, OmniStudio, Flow Orchestration). \nIdentify opportunities to simplify architecture, retire technical debt, and scale re usable components, APIs, and patterns. \nStay current with industry best practices; where relevant, monitor adjacent trends (e.g., distributed ledgers) for future applicability. \nEmbed the Bank’s risk appetite and controls in day to day engineering decisions. \nEnsure secure configurations, data governance, auditability, and compliance with change, access, and separation of duties policies. \nDo you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:\n8+ years in software engineering, with 5+ years hands on on the Salesforce platform (Sales, Service, Experience, or Financial Services Cloud). \n5+ years leading engineering teams/squads (manager/lead role), including coaching, performance, and hiring; experience leading multiple pods is an asset. \nProven delivery of complex Salesforce programs across design, build, test, and implementation in a regulated environment. \nStrong grasp of Apex, LWC, Visualforce, SOQL; familiarity with integration patterns (REST/SOAP APIs, event driven, middleware). \nExperience with API driven, microservice oriented architectures and integrating Salesforce with enterprise platforms. \nDemonstrated excellence in SDLC governance, change management, version control (Git), CI/CD automation, code quality, and automated testing. \nCross functional leadership with product, architecture, risk, compliance, security, and operations. \nAbility to set engineering KPIs, interpret metrics, and drive continuous improvement. \nAt least one current Salesforce certification (to be verified) from: \no Salesforce Developer I or II \no Salesforce Platform App Builder \no Salesforce Administrator \no Salesforce Architect (Application/System/Overall) \no Sales Cloud Consultant (or Service Cloud Consultant) \nExperience with nCino and/or implementation in financial services. \nExposure to multiple Salesforce clouds (e.g., Experience, Marketing, Financial Services Cloud). \nKnowledge of Einstein AI, Data Cloud, OmniStudio, Flow Orchestration. \nBackground managing vendor solutions and optimizing cost/performance. \nExperience managing an engineering operating budget. \nSAFe/Agile leadership certification (e.g., SA, SASM, PAL). \nWhat's in it for you?\nDiversity, Equity, Inclusion & Allyship - We strive to create an inclusive culture where every employee is empowered to reach their fullest potential, respected for who they are, and are embraced through bias-free practices and inclusive values across Scotiabank.
