The successful candidate will have a strong engineering mindset and will work closely with Data Engineering, Cloud, and Architecture teams to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient platforms.\nIs this role right for you? In this role you will:\nWork closely with end users and engineering teams to understand platform requirements, conduct gap analysis, and assess operational needs.\nDesign, build, and own cloud-native platforms supporting data and application workloads.\nLead the development and operation of Kubernetes-based runtime environments for batch and real-time solutions.\nOwn the full lifecycle of platform services, including design, implementation, deployment, and production support.\nPartner with Architecture and development teams on platform design, integration, and standards.\nExperience supporting and operating existing database platforms, including PostgreSQL, within cloud-native and containerized environments.\nBuild and enhance CI/CD pipelines to support automated, secure, and repeatable deployments.\nDevelop automation, microservices, and infrastructure-as-code to improve platform efficiency.\nDefine and implement observability standards including logging, monitoring, and alerting.\nSupport platform services in production, troubleshoot complex issues, and perform root-cause analysis as needed.\nImprove developer and end-user experience by delivering scalable platform capabilities and resolving complex ad-hoc issues.\nEffectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.\nParticipate in SCRUM / Agile ceremonies.\nDo you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:\n7+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles.\nStrong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker in production environments.\nExperience working with cloud platforms, preferably GCP or Azure.\nStrong experience with CI/CD tooling (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Helm).\nExperience working with databases and data infrastructure (e.g., SQL Server, Elasticsearch, Redis).\nExperience with messaging or streaming systems such as Kafka.\nStrong proficiency in Linux environments.\nExperience developing automation or services using Python, Java, Go, or Bash.\nFamiliarity with enterprise logging and monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace, Loki).\nProven ability to own platforms end-to-end and support production-critical systems in regulated environments.\nWhat's in it for you?\nDiversity, Equity, Inclusion & Allyship - We strive to create an inclusive culture where every employee is empowered to reach their fullest potential, respected for who they are, and are embraced through bias-free practices and inclusive values across Scotiabank.
