A vehicle dating back to 1960. One that forged the path for future generations of rugged SUVs and trucks and will do so once again.\nBut Scout is more than just a brand, it’s a legacy steeped in a culture of exploration, caretaking, and hard work.\nThe Scout brand is all about respect. Respect for the past and the future by taking an iconic American brand that hasn’t been around for a while, electrifying it, digitizing it, and loading it with American innovation. Respect for communities by creating a company that stands for its people and its customers. Respect for both work and play, with vehicles that are equally at home at a camp site, a job site, or on a Tuesday commute. And respect for our customers by developing two powertrains that meet their requirements - an all-electric powertrain as well as the Harvester™ range extender powertrain which includes a built-in gas-powered generator with an estimated 500 miles of combined range.\nAt Scout Motors, we empower our talented, inclusive, and entrepreneurial teams to innovate. What makes a Scout employee? Someone who is a visionary and a leader, who seeks new paths and shares lessons learned. A knowledgeable doer who collaborates across the company to build better. A go-getter with unrivaled passion.\nJoin us at Scout Motors and be part of shaping the future of transportation. If you're ready to drive change and make history, apply now!\nWhat you’ll do\nBecome part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:\nOwn quality performance for assigned vehicle assembly processes, production areas, or vehicle systems from prototype builds through launch and series production. \nAnalyze product-quality trends using Pareto analysis, statistical process control (SPC), and root-cause analysis; evaluate identifiable process, product, timing, and production factors to select and drive appropriate corrective and preventive actions using 8D and DMAIC methodologies. \nDevelop, implement, and maintain layered quality-control plans, inspection standards, and defect-detection systems aligned with product complexity, process risk, and launch phase. \nLead problem-solving activities during prototype builds, pre-production, ramp-up, and series production, including line-side investigation, containment, root-cause determination, corrective action, and verification of sustained effectiveness. \nInterface directly with Product Engineering, Process Engineering, Manufacturing, and other cross-functional partners to ensure design-for-quality, manufacturability, and build feasibility within the assigned scope. \nSupport dimensional-quality efforts, including fit and finish, flushness, and closure alignment, by working closely with BIW, Paint, Trim, Chassis, and other affected teams. \nValidate critical assembly processes using error-proofing, poka-yoke systems, torque traceability, camera-based inspection, and real-time quality monitoring. \nAdapt established quality methods and control approaches to address unusual circumstances, recurring defects, or process variation when standard solutions are insufficient. \nMake quality recommendations and decisions within the assigned scope that protect launch readiness, production continuity, regulatory compliance, and customer quality; escalate material risks and decisions outside the role's authority at critical review points. \nDrive continuous-improvement and defect-reduction initiatives across assigned stations and systems, fostering a zero-defect culture and ensuring actions are tracked through closure. \nConduct audits and support readiness for IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, and applicable Volkswagen Group quality standards. \nTrain production teams and quality inspectors on key process controls, quality-critical features, inspection standards, and lessons learned. \nCommunicate difficult quality matters, corrective-action recommendations, and production risks to technical and nontechnical stakeholders, adapting the level of detail to the audience. \nLocation & Travel Expectations:\nThis role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Blythewood, South Carolina\nThis role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events. \nApplicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.\nWhat you’ll bring \nWe expect all Scout employees to have integrity, curiosity, resourcefulness, and strive to exhibit a positive attitude, as well as a growth mindset.
