We help public and private sector organisations design and deliver better digital services, working in agile, multidisciplinary teams on services used by millions of people every day.\nThe Role\nAs a Senior Data Architect, you will define and maintain the data architecture that supports modern digital services. You will work across delivery teams to make sure data is designed, structured, stored and consumed in a consistent and effective way.\nYou will work closely with Technical Architects, Software Developers and Analysts so that systems follow agreed data architecture principles. The role balances strategic oversight with hands-on guidance, helping teams build scalable, secure and maintainable data solutions.\nYou will also support data governance, including metadata management and data dictionaries, in line with organisational data strategy and standards.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign and maintain enterprise and solution-level data architectures.\n\nDefine and govern data models, schemas and metadata structures.\n\nProvide oversight and guidance to teams producing data artefacts.\n\nSupport the creation and management of data dictionaries.\n\nEnsure data solutions align with organisational standards and architecture principles.\n\nWork with Technical Architects so systems are designed in line with the data architecture.\n\nAdvise on data storage, access and integration patterns.\n\nSupport data quality, consistency and integrity across services.\n\nCommunicate data architecture decisions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.\n\nContribute to the continuous improvement of data architecture practices and standards.\n\nEssential Skills and Experience\nStrong experience in data architecture and data design.\n\nAbility to design and maintain data models and metadata systems.\n\nExperience supporting data standards and data dictionaries.\n\nStrong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, such as Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB and Oracle.\n\nExperience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS and/or Azure).\n\nUnderstanding of data integration and data lifecycle management.\n\nAbility to collaborate closely with architects, engineers and delivery teams.\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\n\nClear communication and documentation skills.\n\nExperience working in agile delivery environments.\n\nDesirable Skills and Experience\nExposure to analytical and reporting platforms, such as Power BI or Tableau.\n\nExperience with data governance or data quality frameworks.\n\nFamiliarity with event-driven or integration-led architectures.\n\nExperience working effectively in a hybrid environment.\n\nWhy Join Us?\nWork on meaningful digital services that make a real difference to the public.\n\nJoin a growing, award-winning consultancy with a strong delivery culture.\n\nGrow your career alongside experienced architects and engineers.\n\nScrumconnect is an equal opportunities employer.
