You will work in a multidisciplinary agile team, using JavaScript, TypeScript and Node.js to build the user-facing layer of services and the APIs\nbehind it, in line with GDS standards and patterns.\nKey Responsibilities\nBuild and maintain accessible, responsive user interfaces and server-side applications\nusing JavaScript, TypeScript and Node.js.\nDevelop with Express or Fastify, and with Nunjucks templates where the service uses\nthem.\nBuild and consume API micro services.\nWork with SQL or NoSQL databases, and use Redis for caching and session handling.\nWrite automated tests with Jest or Mocha, and practise test-driven development.\nFollow the GOV.UK Design System and GDS standards and patterns, and meet the\nGDS Service Standard.\nMake sure services meet WCAG accessibility standards, and test with assistive\ntechnology.\nBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines, and deploy services on AWS and Azure.\nReview code, share good practice and support colleagues.\nWork with designers, user researchers, content designers and delivery teams to deliver\niteratively.\nInvestigate and fix defects, and support services in live.\nWhat We are Looking For\nEssential:\nBPSS check required.\nStrong, hands-on experience of JavaScript, TypeScript and Node.js.\nExperience with Express or Fastify.\nExperience writing tests with Jest or Mocha.\nExperience with SQL or NoSQL databases.\nExperience with Redis and with building or using API microservices.\nExperience working with AWS and Azure, and with CI/CD pipelines.\nGood knowledge of WCAG accessibility and of GDS standards and patterns.\nExperience working in agile, multidisciplinary teams.\nStrong communication skills.\nDesirable:\nExperience with Nunjucks.\nExperience delivering services through GDS phases and service assessments.\nExperience with the GOV.UK Frontend and Design System in live services.\nDocker and infrastructure as code (for example Terraform).\nExperience mentoring other developers.\nWhy Join Scrumconnect Ltd?\nAt Scrumconnect, we are more than just a consultancy.
