With a strong commitment to user-centred design and agile delivery, and more to deliver innovative digital services that matter.\nRole Overview\nWe are seeking a Lead Performance Tester / Performance Engineering Lead to provide end-to-end ownership of performance testing and performance assurance across complex digital services.\nThis role acts as the performance authority, accountable for defining strategy, leading delivery, and providing formal recommendations on production readiness.\nKey Responsibilities\nOwn the performance testing strategy for assigned services or programmes\n\nLead volumetric analysis, performance risk assessment, and test scoping\n\nDefine entry/exit criteria, success measures, and acceptance recommendations\n\nProvide performance engineering expertise, including architectural input\n\nLead and coordinate load, stress, soak, and scalability testing activities\n\nOversee integration of performance testing into CI/CD pipelines\n\nAnalyse results and lead root-cause analysis of systemic performance issues\n\nProduce and sign off Test Completion Reports and readiness assessments\n\nEngage with senior stakeholders, architects, and governance forums\n\nSupport Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT) and live readiness\n\nDrive continuous improvement, innovation, and best practices in performance\n\nEssential Skills & Experience\nExtensive experience leading performance testing for large-scale systems\n\nStrong background in performance engineering, not just tool execution\n\nProven ability to make design and architectural recommendations\n\nExperience with cloud platforms (especially AWS)\n\nDeep understanding of:\n\nDistributed systems\n\nMicroservice architecture\n\nScalability, resilience, and capacity planning\n\nConfident stakeholder engagement at technical and leadership levels\n\nExperience operating in governed or regulated environments\n\nDesirable\nPublic-sector or government programme experience\n\nExperience with APM, monitoring, observability, or AI-assisted analysis\n\nFamiliarity with GDS or enterprise assurance frameworks\n\nScope & Accountability\nAccountable for end-to-end performance testing outcomes\n\nOwns performance risk, strategy, and assurance for assigned services\n\nProvides formal recommendations on test exit and production readiness\n\nLeads and mentors performance testers across engagements\n\nActs as the senior escalation point for performance-related issues\n\nRepresents performance capability in governance and assurance forums\n\nOur Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion\nAt Scrumconnect Consulting, we believe thatdiversity drives innovation.
