This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who can move between discovery, code, data, deployment and customer conversations with support from senior technical leaders.\nWhat You Will Work On\nWork with customers, solution architects and senior Forward Deployed Engineers to understand operational problems and turn them into clear technical workflows.\nBuild and maintain applied AI applications, agents, automations and integrations using Python and TypeScript.\nConfigure tools, context, permissions, evaluations and guardrails within the Scrums.com AI agent harness.\nDeploy, observe and improve customer solutions through the Scrums.com Software Engineering Orchestration Platform.\nConnect models and agents to APIs, databases, enterprise applications and customer data sources.\nWrite production-quality code, tests, documentation and runbooks for the workflows you own.\nInvestigate incidents, triage support requests and resolve defects with appropriate guidance.\nMeasure workflow quality, reliability, latency and cost, then implement practical improvements.\nWhat We Look For\n3+ years of professional software engineering, data engineering or machine learning engineering experience.\nProduction experience with Python and working knowledge of TypeScript or JavaScript.\nExperience integrating REST APIs, databases and third-party services.\nWorking knowledge of SQL and modern cloud development practices.\nFamiliarity with large language models, retrieval, tool calling, prompt design or agentic workflows.\nAbility to debug unfamiliar systems and explain technical decisions clearly to customers and teammates.\nA degree in computer science, engineering, data science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.\nWhy Scrums.com\nWork on applied AI deployments tied to real customer operations, not isolated demonstrations.\nUse the Scrums.com AI agent harness to govern context, tools, permissions, evaluations and model behaviour in production.\nDeliver through a Software Engineering Orchestration Platform that connects engineers, AI agents, infrastructure and software workflows.\nJoin a global expert network of 10,000+ engineers and work with customers across the UK, Europe, Africa and the United States.\nTake on long-term, high-trust engagements with support from Scrums.com talent, delivery and technical teams.\nApply once and be considered for relevant customer deployments across the Scrums.com network, with no fees or subscription for engineers.\nWorking Model\nThis is a location-based remote role. You must be based in, or willing to relocate to, the named metro area. Most delivery is remote, with working hours aligned to the customer and occasional travel to customer or Scrums.com offices when a deployment requires it.
