This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to facilitate trust between the patient and the clinical team.\nKey Responsibilities:\nPatient Communication & Case Presentation\nPresent comprehensive treatment plans recommended by the dentist to patients.\nEducate patients on procedures, timelines, and the importance of recommended care.\nAnswer patient questions regarding treatment, insurance, and financial options.\nFinancial Coordination\nProvide accurate treatment estimates based on insurance verification and fee schedules.\nDiscuss payment plans, third-party financing, and other financial arrangements.\nCollect co-pays, pre-payments, and schedule future payments as needed.\nInsurance & Scheduling\nVerify insurance coverage and benefits prior to treatment presentation.\nEnsure proper pre-authorizations are obtained when required.\nCoordinate with front office and clinical team to schedule procedures efficiently.\nAdministrative Support\nMaintain accurate records of presented and accepted treatment plans.\nFollow up with patients on unscheduled treatment.\nTrack case acceptance rates and contribute to patient retention efforts.\nSupport front desk team as needed with check-in/check-out processes.\nQualifications:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.\n2+ years of experience in a dental office setting, with a focus on treatment coordination, patient relations, or insurance billing.\nStrong knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.\nFamiliarity with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental).\nExceptional communication, sales, and customer service skills.\nAbility to handle confidential information with discretion.\nBilingual skills are a plus.\nKey Competencies:\nPatient-focused mindset\nProfessional demeanor and appearance\nDetail-oriented and organized\nAbility to multitask and adapt to a fast-paced environment\nTeam-oriented with a proactive attitude\nWho We Are\nSmile Programs is the nation's leading in-school dental program founded almost two decades ago by two moms, who happen to also be dentists.
