It is an operational problem before it is an environmental one, and\nin our hands it is mostly an engineering one.\nWe are hiring a senior engineer who works across our web frontend and our\ninfrastructure - the same two codebases, in the same week. Someone who ships a\nproduct screen on Monday, changes an identity-provider flow on Wednesday, and\nconsiders those the same job.\nWe are looking for a broad profile rather than a specialist. The next year is\nmostly platform work with a user-facing edge - user management, API gateway\nmanagement, payments, SEO, and a great deal of compliance, GDPR and ISO 27001.\nIf you are passionate about the environment, proactive and pragmatic in getting\nthings done, and love to work in a complex but fascinating industry where you\nlearn every day - then this is the place for you.\nThe work in front of us\nSome of the items on our tech roadmap for the coming year. Bets are picked a\ncycle at a time and shared out, so you would take the ones that suit you and\ngrow into the rest.\nProduct and marketing UI in React - multi-brand, WCAG AA, strong ontechnical SEO, fast enough to hold a performance budget.\n\nUser management and identity - Keycloak realms, organisation hierarchies,partner brokering, and the entitlement model in the app.\n\nAPI gateway work in APISIX - routes, plugins and auth policy as code.\nPayments and billing.\nISO 27001 and GDPR - access control, change management, audit logging,observability and alerting, consent and retention.\n\nThe infrastructure underneath - Pulumi in TypeScript, Docker Swarm onHetzner, Cloudflare at the edge, Tailscale for all engineer and CI access.\n\nThird-party integrations - usually the seam between two systems that werenever designed to meet.\n\nNobody arrives fluent in all of that, and we are not expecting it. We want\nsomeone strong across a good part of it, comfortable being new to the rest, and\nused to working things out - with a team and with agents, rather than alone.\nAlso in daily use: Postgres and PostGIS, Valkey, ClickHouse; Vite, Tailwind and\nRadix; Jest and Playwright; GitHub Actions; HAProxy. Most of what we write is\nTypeScript, strict - though our core API is Java and Spring, and the identity\nlayer has Java in it too, so how far you go into that side is up to you.\nHow we work\nLLM-native, in the codebases you would work in. They are built around\nagent-assisted development rather than merely tolerant of it - the conventions,\nthe tooling and the review gates all assume it. Agents do most of the\nimplementation and much of the review; humans design, verify and approve. What\nwe are really hiring for is judgement over output you did not write by hand:\nknowing what to specify, what to check, and what to throw away. The bar did not\nmove when the tooling did.\nShape Up, and you own what you take. Roughly three weeks of building, then a\nweek of cooldown, with bets chosen at a betting table. We are small enough that\nan area becomes yours quickly - you make the calls inside it and you answer for\nhow it turns out. We hand out problems, not the steps that solve them.\nRemote first, with most of the team in Europe and everyone together in person at\nleast twice a year. Significant technical decisions get written down, and a\ngreen build is never on its own enough to merge.\nRequirements\nYou'll thrive here if you have…\nSenior full-stack experience - you have owned features from the browser tothe machine they run on.\n\nA track record of taking something and running with it - a domain, amigration, a subsystem you took on, decided and stayed accountable for.\n\nTaste. You can tell a good design from a merely plausible one, and youwill reject work that functions but is not right - your own, and an agent's.\n\nReact beyond the client - server rendering, static generation, dataloading and hydration; you know what runs where and why it matters.\n\nTypeScript at strict - typed boundaries, and an instinct for when typesare carrying real weight.\n\nInfrastructure as code - Pulumi ideally; Terraform if you are ready topick up Pulumi.\n\nContainers and Linux in production - not writing a Dockerfile, butdebugging a service on a machine you have to SSH into.\n\nPostgres beyond queries - backup and restore, migrations, what a schemachange does under load.\n\nWholehearted LLM-assisted development - you use coding agents daily, haveopinions about steering them, and review their output as critically as a\ncolleague's.\n\nIntegration instincts - third-party APIs, webhooks, OAuth/OIDC, andpatience for other people's undocumented edge cases.\n\nA working day that overlaps ours: based within CET ±3.\nFluent in English, our working language.\nNice to have\nIdentity and API gateways in depth - Keycloak, OIDC, SAML brokering, APISIX.\nCompliance from the inside - an ISO 27001 certification lived through, or GDPRbeyond a cookie banner.\n\nPayment systems, billing models, or PSP integrations.\nObservability and alerting -
