Our work provides a unique opportunity to learn how products move from raw materials through manufacturing processes to finished goods.\nAbout the role - you will:\nYour work will help inform supplier negotiations, manufacturing decisions, and product cost optimization efforts across Seagate's supply chain. \nAnalyze manufacturing processes, materials, equipment, labor, yield, and other cost drivers. \nResearch manufacturing technologies, production methods, and industry practices. \nSupport cost analysis, benchmarking, and scenario modeling. \nWork with Engineering, Supply Chain, Commodity Management, Operations, and other subject matter experts to gather information and validate assumptions. \nPresent analyses, insights, and recommendations to technical and business stakeholders. \nSupport initiatives related to manufacturing efficiency, cost optimization, and supplier engagement. \nAbout you:\nYou are naturally curious and enjoy understanding how things work. \nYou are comfortable learning unfamiliar topics, asking questions, and solving problems that do not always have a clear answer. You enjoy combining technical, analytical, and business thinking to develop practical solutions. \nYou take ownership of your work, independently drive progress, and communicate your findings clearly. \nMost importantly, you are interested in both manufacturing and analytics and want to better understand how engineering decisions influence business outcomes. \nYour experience includes:\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in understanding how products are designed, manufactured, and costed. \nDemonstrated initiative and ability to independently drive work forward. \nStrong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical findings and recommendations clearly. \nComfort working with ambiguity and incomplete information. \nAbility to learn unfamiliar technical concepts quickly and collaborate with subject matter experts.\nCurrent Bachelor's or Master's student with coursework or project experience related to engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, operations, analytics, or other technical disciplines, and returning to classes in Fall 2027.\nLocation:\nLongmont, CO or Remote United States\nOur Longmont product-design campus is nestled against the foothills with exceptional views of the Rocky Mountains. Seagate also offers Interns 12 paid holidays and a minimum of 48 hours of paid sick leave.
