This technician operates and maintains all building HVAC equipment and supports general facilities operations. This position reports to the Facilities Mechanical Services Maintenance Manager and will support Seagate's Bloomington, MN operations - a 700,000+ square foot, highly technical facility, operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.\nAbout the role - you will:\nLead a team of HVAC Technicians on day-to-day activities, pay rate will include a 10% premium\nWrite work orders and interface with internal customers.\nInteract with vendors to coordinate building repairs.\nOrder parts/tools, submit purchase requisitions, and manage parts inventory.\nPerform preventative maintenance, inspection, repair, and installation of heating and A/C units. Including MAU’s, RTU’s, FCU’s, boilers, pumps, and motors\nPerform preventative maintenance, repair and installation of AHU’s, VAV’s, supply fans, exhausters including air scrubbers.\nOperate and perform preventative maintenance and repairs on building chillers and production refrigeration units, compressors, fans, coils and piping.\nUse building automation system (JCI) to monitor, report and troubleshoot building system faults and respond appropriately to alarms.\nPerform minor plumbing repairs.\nUse and maintain related HVAC & refrigeration tools and supplies.\nPromotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.\nRespond to emergency calls related to equipment failure, spills, and leaks.\nComplete all assigned preventative maintenance and service request on a computerized maintenance management system.\nPerform miscellaneous department-related duties as assigned including possible safety inspections and building grounds work.\nCoordinate with management, project managers, engineers, contractors, and other personnel to understand and effectively complete assigned work\nAdhere to all environmental and safety rules and regulations\n1st shift, Mon-Fri, 5:30am-2pm\nAbout you:\nHVAC certification training or 2 years’ experience or equivalent formal apprenticeship training in operation, troubleshooting\nCFC Certification\nBoilers License or willingness to obtain within 6 months\nWork independently with minimal supervision \nWork at heights and lift up to 50 lbs. \nAbility to identify and recognize the difference between low and high voltage\nStrong customer service skills\nPossess strong skills in organizing, executing and documenting work\nAttention to detail and ability to follow processes\nEffective written and verbal communications and interpersonal skills in order to work closely with site management, engineering, staff and others\nAble to respond to emergency calls, work a 10-hour shift, work occasional overtime, and work occasional holidays as required\nYour experience includes:\nJohnson Controls Experience desirable\nExperience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)\nExperience with Microsoft Office\nAssociate Degree in HVAC, Technical College\nLocation:\nOur Normandale campus spans two suburbs, Edina and Bloomington, and serves as the Recording Head development and manufacturing arm of Seagate.
