With operational headquarters in Fremont, California, and legal domicile in Dublin, Ireland, Seagate Technology is a leading global data storage company specializing in hard disk drives (HDDs), solid-state drives (SSDs), and high-capacity mass-storage systems. Founded in 1978, the company designs, develops, and manufactures infrastructure solutions that enable enterprises, cloud data centers, and consumer markets to store, manage, and protect massive volumes of data. Serving clients worldwide across diverse industries, it provides advanced storage technologies tailored for artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud computing, and high-performance computing environments.

About our group:

The technical & cloud product marketing organization at Seagate defines and drives product and market strategies that power the world’s data infrastructure. We connect customer insights, technical innovation, and business objectives to shape Seagate’s long-term growth strategy.

This role supports the Product Roadmap function within Seagate’s technical and cloud product marketing organization, with a focus on mainstream cloud customers. The team owns cross-customer portfolio direction, roadmap trade-offs, and the translation of market requirements into prioritized product and technology decisions.

This group partners globally across Product Roadmap, Technical Marketing, Product Marketing, Engineering, Operations, Sales, Finance, Customer Success, and CTO/Architecture to align customer requirements, technical capability, portfolio economics, and roadmap execution.

About the role - you will:

As the Mainstream Cloud Owner, you will represent the roadmap function across Seagate's mainstream cloud customers, driving alignment between customer infrastructure requirements, product capabilities, and roadmap priorities. You will work directly with cloud customers to understand deployment architectures, adoption barriers, and future infrastructure needs while helping shape product direction and customer readiness for new technologies.

This role serves as the primary roadmap partner for mainstream cloud accounts and contributes customer insights, deployment experience, and market perspectives into Seagate's broader product and technology roadmap process.

The ideal candidate combines storage domain expertise, cloud infrastructure experience, and customer-facing leadership. They understand how HDDs are deployed and operated within real-world environments, can engage credibly with technical and executive audiences, and help customers successfully adopt new technologies while influencing Seagate's long-term roadmap direction.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Mainstream Cloud Roadmap Leadership: Serve as the roadmap lead for mainstream cloud customers, representing customer needs, deployment realities, and adoption requirements within Seagate's product and technology roadmap process.
  • Technology Adoption and Enablement: Work closely with customers to understand deployment requirements, operational constraints, and adoption barriers for new HDD technologies, helping ensure successful introduction of new products and capabilities.
  • Customer and Infrastructure Engagement: Engage directly with cloud infrastructure architects, storage teams, and technical decision makers to understand workload requirements, storage architectures, operational challenges, and future infrastructure needs.
  • QTR and Roadmap Positioning: Craft and communicate roadmap narratives that connect Seagate's technology investments to customer outcomes, ensuring content is technically credible, strategically aligned, and relevant to the audience.
  • Portfolio and Segment Alignment: Contribute to roadmap and portfolio technical content for mainstream cloud customers and guide alignment with the China segment team.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Roadmap, Technical Marketing, Product Marketing, Engineering, Operations, Sales, Finance, Customer Success, and CTO/Architecture to support roadmap execution and customer alignment.
  • Customer Capability Planning: Help define customer capability objectives and next actions that align Seagate responses to customer needs.
  • Technical Roadmap Influence: Apply understanding of storage technologies, HDD deployment models, and cloud infrastructure environments to assess customer requirements, identify opportunities, and influence roadmap priorities.

About you:

  • Significant understanding of cloud infrastructure, storage architectures, and the operational environments in which HDDs are deployed.
  • Able to engage credibly with infrastructure architects, storage engineers, and technical decision makers while translating technical requirements into business and roadmap recommendations.
  • Strong problem solver who seeks to understand underlying customer challenges and develop scalable solutions rather than simply advocating for individual feature requests.
  • Exercises sound judgment in customer-facing discussions, balancing transparency, roadmap positioning, and business objectives.
  • Able to connect customer requirements, market needs, and technical inputs into clear roadmap recommendations.
  • Comfortable working across Product Roadmap, Technical Marketing, Product Marketing, Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, and regional segment teams.
  • Strong collaborator who can support alignment across mainstream cloud and China segment needs.
  • Focused on creating clarity, consistency, and actionability in roadmap planning and customer-facing content.

Your experience includes:

  • Extensive experience in cloud infrastructure, storage, data center technologies, product management, technical marketing, or related technical leadership roles.
  • Experience deploying, operating, supporting, or architecting storage solutions within cloud, hyperscale, enterprise, or data center environments.
  • Significant understanding of storage technologies and the interaction between storage devices, system software, and cloud infrastructure architectures.
  • Experience working directly with cloud providers, hyperscalers, infrastructure operators, or storage architects.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence technical and business decisions through customer engagement, technical expertise, and strategic problem solving.
